Parth Samthaan CONFIRMS Exit From CID 2: ‘Won't Be Continuing…'
Last Updated: Parth Samthaan, who was seen as ACP Ayushmaan in CID season 2, said that he has other work commitments lined up. Parth Samthaan's entry into CID season 2 as ACP Ayushmaan garnered significant attention, a few weeks ago. However, Parth has confirmed that he will be exiting the show after Shivaji Satam's return as the legendary ACP Pradyuman. He shared that while his role was a guest appearance initially, it got extended for a couple of months. The news of his exit comes just one month after he joined the show. The actor revealed that he has other work commitments lined up, which is why he will not be continuing for long. While speaking with Pinkvilla, Parth Samnthaan said, 'It's been an absolute pleasure to be a part of a cult show like CID, even if it's just for a brief period. I was on board for a few episodes only, a guest appearance, but later got extended for a couple of months." He further added, 'Initially, we couldn't give any confirmation on the same as it would have spoiled the excitement of the show. And now with Shivaji Sir's return, that thrilling twist about the mole will be unfolded very soon." Parth then mentioned that he has other projects in the pipeline, and he will begin working on them after his brief stint in CID ends. 'Anyway, I have other work commitments lined up, hence I won't be continuing for long. But yes, I'm grateful for all the love and support the audience has shown during my brief stint," he shared. Previously, in an interview, Parth admitted that he had doubts about taking on the role of ACP Ayushman. The actor was speaking to Hindustan Times when he said, 'Initially, I rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman, because I don't relate to it. But the makers asked me to reconsider. I was also hesitant due to the show's long-standing cast and the fact that they'd have to address me as 'sir' on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward." On April 17, Parth Samthaan shared a promo of CID featuring him as ACP Ayushmaan. 'Introducing ACP Ayushman in the most Iconic, loved and longest running show – CID !!! This show has always been an integral part of our childhood and Indian Television ! The all time famous dialogues as well as the officers becoming veterans or rather Legends (ACP pradyuman , Daya & Abhijeet ) , this show has seen it all and to be a part is truly a blessing for me," he wrote. He further added that this marked his comeback to television after 5 years, and it wasn't a show he thought he would be a part of. 'but then , that's life – always being unpredictable and mysterious and I always end up taking that unplanned route for myself , be it Kyy or Kasautii ! So let's begin this beautiful journey and crack some cases," he shared. First Published:
