Palak Tiwari Calls Mom Shweta ‘Frugal': ‘Was Tired Of Jholi, Got Her First Designer Bag'

Last Updated: Palak Tiwari hopes for mom Shweta Tiwari to 'reward' herself more often and carry bags that represent the name and brand that she has created for herself. Shweta Tiwari raised her children – Palak Tiwari and Reyansh Kohli – as a single mother after going through two troubled marriages. After becoming a household name with Kasautii Zindagii Kay in the early 2000s, she emerged as one of the highest paid female actors of Indian television. And yet, when it comes to money, she doesn't share the greatest relationship with it. A while back, while speaking to us, she had said that she only knows how to save money and that it's her daughter who's a spendthrift. Now, in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Palak refers to her mother as 'frugal' and says that she doesn't know how to reward herself. 'My mom has worked too hard and too much in life. And that's why she's so simple and frugal all the time. It's not about being materialistic so much so as it's about rewarding yourself," she tells us. And that's why Palak doesn't think twice before pampering her by buying her expensive, branded items. 'She's a girl at the end of the day. She's still a girl at heart and every girl loves her bags. If you know that you can afford it and you deserve it, you should go for it. How much will she run behind me, nani and Reyansh? She doesn't give herself any luxury in life, which is why I ask her to prioritise herself once in a while. I tell her to stop buying my brother a new pair of shorts every two days. She can buy herself a nice bag with that money. She deserves it," says Palak. In fact, the first ever branded bag that Shweta ever carried was a gift to her from Palak. 'With the kind of name that she has earned for herself, she should carry a bag that represents that. Why shouldn't she? But she doesn't listen to me. Eventually, I get fed up and buy her stuff. The first designer bag that she owned was bought by me for her because I got tired of that one jholi she kept carrying. I couldn't see her carrying that jholi anymore," shares Palak. Offering us a glimpse into Shweta's habits and lifestyle, the Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and The Bhootnii actor says, 'But I understand. She's obviously a mother and for her, my money and her money is ghar ka paisa and she doesn't want that paisa to go to Louis Vuitton (laughs). But I love spoiling her." On the work front, Palak is gearing up for the release of her film, Romeo S3, which happens to be the first film that she signed and shot for. Speaking about how Shweta accompanied her to the set momentarily, she remarks, 'She did come to the set on the first day of shoot. She said to my director, 'Sambhal lena meri lallu ko. Meri gadhi abhi tumhaari hui. Please dekh lena usse.' I think any mother would behave that way. But a few moments later, she left because she couldn't watch the shoot anymore (laughs)."

‘The Transition Is...': Parth Samthaan On Facing Struggles With Typecasting

Last Updated: Parth Samthaan was recently seen in the popular TV show CID as ACP Ayushmann. Parth Samthaan, widely known for his role as Manik Malhotra in Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, recently made his TV comeback as ACP Ayushmann in the iconic TV series CID. The actor became a household name with Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, which first aired on TV and later moved to the OTT space. Over the years, Parth has appeared in a number of TV shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay and MTV Warrior High, closely followed by his roles in films and web shows. Despite the expansive career graph, Parth Samthaan strongly believes in the hardships of breaking free from typecasting. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Parth opened up on how fans initially react after seeing actors in a new role, after enjoying their performance in a character for a long time. Speaking on the transition between films and TV shows, he said, 'The switch is tough as television is something which leaves a mark on everyone's mind as it goes on for a longer time. Films are different, as you watch them for two hours, and then you forget them. It can linger on your mind for a few hours and maybe a day or two, and that's it. But television is something that is part of your daily life. People see you everyday at 8:30 PM, then you are on OTT, and then on the news. The character remains constant around you, and it goes for several years." The actor went on to explain how it wasn't easy for him to switch between roles in the beginning, as fans didn't like him in newer roles. 'They would give me a heads-up about not liking my current roles and going back to the previous ones," he continued. Elsewhere in the conversation, Parth Samthaan spoke about his popular show, Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, revealing how its success came with a lot of challenges. 'The show gave me success, but it also took a lot away from my personal life. That happened with other actors as well, who were a part of the show. Our personal lives were screwed, were dismantled, were a mess," he shared.
