Matthews Subaru makes sizable donations to local non-profits
VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A local car dealership is once again supporting local non-profits by making donations for every vehicle sold during a special campaign.
Matthews Subaru announced the results of its annual Share the Love promotion on Thursday at its dealership in Vestal.
Each year, Subaru donates $200 and Matthews adds in another $50 for every vehicle purchased in November, December, and January.
Car buyers are then asked to direct the donations to a national or local charity of their choice.
This year, the Broome County Humane Society is receiving over $16,000, the YWCA nearly $8,000, and Meals on Wheels of Western Broome $4,000.
Marketing Director Kathy Breno says it's a great collaboration between the auto maker, the dealership, and their customers.
'We thank our Subaru customers who make this all possible, obviously they're the ones who come in to buy the cars, and we are able to donate money as a result of that. So, we thank you all for being here to share the love with us, and look forward to more partnerships in the future,' said Breno.
Matthews and Subaru have given $289,000 to local charities since the promotion began.
