Katie Price says she's 'discriminated' against as she gives update on bankruptcies

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Katie Price has expressed her frustrations over perceived discrimination following her two bankruptcies despite being recently discharged from them. The 47 year old ex-glamour model, who once boasted a £40 million fortune, has spoken candidly about her financial tribulations, which saw her face a significant tax debt exceeding £750,000 and led to two bankruptcies within a challenging six-year period. Despite clearing her debts last March and looking forward to future triumphs, Katie has faced ongoing issues. Last year, after leaving her 'Mucky Mansion', the mother of five disclosed difficulties with securing a new home, attributing this to estate agents harbouring a "black mark" against her due to her publicised monetary struggles. She recounted instances where agents told her properties had been let to others after she showed interest, only to find they remained available—a situation that leads her to sense unfair treatment as she attempts to rebuild her life. Speaking on her podcast, 'The Katie Price Show', Katie voiced her determination: "I love it how I have gone through all what I have because I will get there again." She expressed frustration: "I just have a problem with when you have been in a bankruptcy, you just can't get anything. It is so annoying because I earn such good money. I earn, like I did back in the day, really good money but it makes no difference if you earn the money." Katie explained: "Once you get that black mark against your name, there's nothing you can do. Even when I go to rent a house, as soon as they know its my name, it is discrimination.", reports the Mirror. "They are like 'Oh no, no' and I am like 'Oh is it because of what you've read?'. Does it really matter, I have got the money and I can pay upfront. It's the name that puts people off and it's such discrimination." Katie was initially declared bankrupt in December 2019 for one year. At the time, her worth was estimated to be £40 million. Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sentstraight to your messages. She then agreed to make monthly payments of £12,000 to her creditors in an attempt to clear her debt. However, this was unsuccessful, and by July 2020, Katie found herself back in court for another bankruptcy hearing. She informed the court she was living in a rental property that cost her £4,200 per month. Then, in March 2024, during a brief hearing held at the Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court in London, Katie was declared bankrupt a second time. During this hearing, it emerged that she owed £761,994.05 to HMRC, and the court found that she had failed to address this debt. Earlier this year, Katie announced her discharge from bankruptcy, expressing her relief: "I'm so happy. I can finally move on and leave these bankruptcies behind me, focusing only on the positive. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this process."

Katie Price has 'black mark' over name after being rejected for rental houses

Former glamour model Katie Price has claimed she is discriminated against as she gave an insight into her life since being cleared of her two bankruptcies earlier this year Katie Price has shared her frustrations following her two bankruptcies as she claims she is discriminated against. The former glamour model, 47, has been open about her financial woes over the years. She has endured a tumultuous six years of money struggles, including two bankruptcies. The second of which happened following a significant tax debt of more than £750,000. ‌ However, in March she revealed she has been discharged from this - and is now ready to enjoy successes in the future. Katie, who once had a fortune of £40million, has still been hit by the consequences of her bankruptcies despite being cleared. ‌ The mum-of-five has revealed her financial situation is still hammering her life, having moved out of her Mucky Mansion last year. Following the move, Katie admitted she struggled to find somewhere else to live. She has claimed estate agents held a "black mark" against her name due to her well-known finances. Katie said she would receive calls from agents explaining properties had been rented to someone else after she expressed interest, yet claims they were still up for rent. ‌ It has left Katie believing she is being discriminated against as she tries to move forward. Speaking on the Katie Price Show podcast, Katie said: "I love it how I have gone through all what I have because I will get there again. "I just have a problem with when you have been in a bankruptcy, you just can't get anything. It is so annoying because I earn such good money. I earn, like I did back in the day, really good money but it makes no difference if you earn the money." She explained: "Once you get that black mark against your name, there's nothing you can do. Does it really matter, I have got the money and I can pay upfront. It's the name that puts people off and it's such discrimination." Katie was first declared bankrupt for a year in December 2019, despite her worth being estimated at £40million at the time. She agreed to pay an eyewatering £12,000 a month to creditors in a bid to dig herself out of debt. Unfortunately, this plan proved unsuccessful, and in July 2020, Katie was back in court at a bankruptcy hearing, where she revealed she was living in rented accommodation which was costing her £4,200 a month. ‌ In March 2024, Katie was declared bankrupt a second time during a short hearing at London's Rolls Building, Insolvency and Companies Court. At the hearing, it was heard that Katie owed £761,994.05 to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and that she had not responded in regards to the debt. Earlier this year, Katie revealed she has been discharged from her bankruptcies as she celebrated: "I'm so happy. I can finally move on and leave these bankruptcies behind me, focusing only on the positive. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this process."

I was a victim of ‘Del Boy' of BBLs I am thrilled Katie Price's butt lift injector has been banned after I almost died

Bonnie Louise Cooper was left fighting for her life after her botched BBL BB HELL I was a victim of 'Del Boy' of BBLs I am thrilled Katie Price's butt lift injector has been banned after I almost died Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) READING the news that her former surgeon Rick Sawyer has been banned cosmetic procedures Bonnie Louise Cooper felt a wave of relief sweep over her body. Sawyer, who gained notoriety performing the BBLs on Katie Price, will no longer be able to practice cosmetic surgery across England and Wales for three years after being slapped with the ban in Manchester Civil Court. 6 Bonnie-Louise Cooper fought for her life after having a BBL at one of Rick Sawyer's clinics Credit: Supplied 6 The mum-of-one contracted sepsis and is lucky to be alive Credit: Supplied He was exposed after a BBC documentary showed him using a rented office block in London to perform the potentially deadly procedure that left some victims, including Bonnie, hospitalised with deadly sepsis. Bonnie, 27, was one of the women whose evidence had been used to ensure the man she had dubbed an 'evil Del Boy,' was served with an injunction. Sawyer has been banned from conducting any procedures in England and Wales until 27 May 2028 after a court heard evidence his BBL procedure had exposed women to sepsis. The injunction also prohibits him from possessing related surgical equipment or any antibiotics typically used in such treatments, unless prescribed for his own personal use. 'I can finally breathe again, Sawyer can no longer hurt any other women,' says Bonnie. 'I was left writing in agony and screaming in pain because of this procedure. 'I still need treatment for my injuries two years on. 'It's a huge relief and I know it's going to send a message to other so-called 'experts' who claim to be trained and licensed. 'These people are evil Del Boys who inflict suffering on unwitting victims. 'I'd be dead if my sister hadn't called the ambulance and gotten me into hospital. Watch as Katie Price livestreams her bum filler op for shocked fans as TWO surgeons inject her on operating table 'My little boy would have been an orphan all because of one of Sawyer's liquid butt lifts.' Beautician Bonnie, lives in Swanage, Dorset is mum to five -year-old Kash and says she decided to have a liquid BBL in November 2023. 'I thought I was doing the right and responsible thing by choosing a British clinic, I was told it was the safest option,' she says. 'I chose the one used by Katie Price on London's elite Harley Street thinking it safe.' But the night before, Bonnie admits she was stunned when she received a text with the address of the practitioner's "second clinic" in Romford, Essex. 'I was assured this was normal,' she remembers. When Bonnie arrived, the mum was told the producer was 'entirely safe'. 'It was explained I was having 250 mils of filler injected into each buttock,' she says. 6 The mum had her bum injected with filler in the hope to get a pert bottom Credit: supplied 6 Katie Price has previously promoted Sawyer 6 More than 30 people have spoken to the BBC claiming Sawyer botched their procedures 'I was given some numbing cream, but I wasn't prepared for the pain of the cannula injection. 'I always thought that giving birth was the worst pain I had ever experienced but labour was nothing compared to this.' Bonnie says the procedure was done in a beauty salon style environment and she was told to stand rather than lie down for the injections. 'I was in shock after the procedure,' she admits. 'I tried to put on a brave face, I was told I was likely to feel a bit odd because of the numbing cream. 'I asked if I should drive home and was told it was fine. 'That didn't make sense to me. I'd just had half a litre of filler injected into my bum. 'I wasn't given any after care instructions and was sent home without antibiotics and by the time I got home, I was screaming in agony. 'I couldn't get out of the car, and I started to vomit and fainted trying to get into my house. 'I rang the clinic, and I was told that they would get antibiotics for me the next day and advised me to go to bed.' Bonnie's sister Lisa-Marie Hughes,32, a stay-at-home mum, visited her that night, and had she not Bonnie might not be alive. 'She found me delirious, sweating and in absolute agony,' Bonnie recalls. Bonnie was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with sepsis. She was given morphine regularly for the next four days and intravenous antibiotics to fight the injection. 'I had an emergency MRI scan, and it revealed the procedure had caused muscle damage,' Bonnie says. 'It was so serious I was given a referral to Salisbury Plastics for dissolving procedures.' It took almost five days before Bonnie was well enough to be sent home. 'I had to take two different types of antibiotics for another month and was still on painkillers two months later,' she says. 'The antibiotics promised by the clinic never arrived and I was never told, despite asking what type of filler they used. 'The hospital tried to call the salon, but they didn't answer. It was awful. 'I felt like I'd been thrown to the wolves. I was left with no aftercare and no follow up.' 'I have huge regrets, and I still worry about on-going long-term side effects. I hope this ban allows the victims to stand tall Bonnie Cooper 'It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. No one should ever have to experience that.' The standard surgical BBL involves the patient having fat harvested from their own body and re-injection into the buttock area. A non-invasive liquid BBL uses a range of dermal fillers including hyaluronic acid which is injected into each buttock using a large cannula to add volume. The liquid BBL is promoted as relatively pain free because the filler contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic. While it seemed like the perfect option, two years on Bonnie is still suffering from her botched BBl. 'Two years on and I am still having physiotherapy on one of my legs to treat nerve damage two times a week,' she says. 'I have a shooting nerve in one leg. It's a constant reminder of what I suffered at the hands of Sawyer's clinics.' Bonnie is one of more than forty women used as evidence for the case for the self-styled 'celeb backed' expert to be banned. As part of the ban the Manchester Civil Court attached a power of arrest to the order, meaning Sawyer could be arrested without a warrant if he is found to be in breach of the terms. The court, together with Trafford Council, heard evidence which included a BBC documentary showing him working out of a rented office performing the procedures. The lawyer James Parry, who raised the case, said the injuries suffered were akin to that of a 'serious knife crime'. Sawyer, who is described as a beauty consultant, was found to be administering injections containing up to 1,000ml of dermal filler into clients' buttocks, without having a single healthcare qualification. What are Brazilian Butt Lifts and why are they so popular? Buttock enlargement surgery - known as a Brazilian butt-lift (BBL) - is used to make the bum look bigger, rounded and lifted. Surgeons transfer fat, inject filler or insert silicone-filled implants. It is the fastest growing cosmetic procedure but also one of the most dangerous, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS). Many patients are travelling to the likes of Turkey or seeking out unregistered surgeons in the UK and are not given full information on the risks. BBLs carry the highest risk of all cosmetic surgeries - with more than one death occurring per 4,000 procedures. Due to celebrities undergoing such ops, many women are hoping to emulate their looks. Consultant clinical psychologist Dr Anu Sayal-Bennett, a chartered member of the British Psychological Society, told the BBC: "Despite there being so much about body positivity, there are pressures for women - and men too - to look a certain way." Many people travel abroad for the procedure because it is cheaper and advertising is "terribly seductive", combined with the idea of a beach holiday, added Dr Sayal-Bennett. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health has welcomed the ban. Institute President, Mark Elliot, slamming the shocking and dangerous practices Mr Sawyer was found to have committed saying 'the regulatory framework has failed to keep pace with the increase in the prevalence of cosmetic procedures in recent years, fuelled by social media,' The Sawyer ban comes six weeks after socially 'irresponsible' adverts for liquid Brazilian butt lifts have been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority in Britain. The Authority found a slew of promotional posts on Facebook and Instagram broke the rules - and featured time-limited discounts that could rush consumers into making decisions. It banned six BBL providers from using their ads in the current form again, finding they could pressure women into booking cosmetic surgery "without taking sufficient time to consider the consequences". According to the watchdog 'Undertaking cosmetic surgery should have been portrayed as a decision that required time and thought from consumers before proceeding, because of the risks involved. Some of the adverts featured before-and-after images of Brazilian butt lifts, with captions such as: "Get the curves and contours you've always wanted with our safe and effective body filler treatments.' Others urged potential customers to take advantage of an exclusive opportunity to get that perfect peachy look" - and warned "limited space" was available on certain days. Bonnie says the ban should be just the first step in a continued crackdown on so-called back street beauty consultants. 'I hope this ban allows the victims to stand tall,' she adds. Bonnie, who has campaigned to raise awareness about the dangers of this style for BBL, is now calling for new laws making it illegal to perform procedures like this in Britain. 'I fell victim to Sawyer in 2023, and it's taken almost two years for action,' she says. 'There needs to be a fast-tracked approach or new laws to regulate the industry. 'This ban is a start.'

Katie Price pull out of joint tour with Kerry Katona and issues statement

Katie Price has quit her UK tour with Kerry Katona due to 'childcare commitments' leaving the entire 38-date tour in jeopardy three months before first show Katie Price has confirmed that she has made the decision to quit her 38-date UK tour with Kerry Katona, over "childcare commitments." The pair, who first met while on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here back in 2004, were set to embark on a nationwide tour together, which had been titled An Evening with Katie and Kerry - On Tour. It remains unknown whether Kerry, 44, will fulfil her side of the agreement and tour by herself or if the entire tour will be cancelled. ‌ A source claimed the model is 'gutted' and 'tried everything she could' in order to make the tour work, but has been forced to pull out of the tour. ‌ The source claimed to The Sun: "She hates letting her fans down and hopes to be able to do something similar in the future. At the moment, it's unclear whether Kerry will continue without her or if the whole tour will be scrapped." Keen to quell speculation of a rift between the two, the source claimed that both women are "still best of mates, but it's a huge blow to their fans." ‌ And a representative for Katie, 47, who is a mother of five confirmed: "Yes, that's correct. Kate has childcare commitments that come first." The first show was scheduled to be held at Ellesmere Port on September 11 and the tour was set to end in October 22 in Hull. The premise of the show was to treat fans to anecdotes of their two decade friendship, their marriages, divorces and bankruptcy issues. The tour was also set to address their time on I'm A Celebrity, family values and their journey towards turning their lives around, along with audience participation. ‌ Promoting their show before the shock announcement, a post on a ticket site said: "Join them for an evening that promises to be warm, inspirational, motivational and lots of fun!" It continued: "There will also be some song and dance and an opportunity for audience questions." And to make matters worse, meet and greet tickets were also being promoted with one theatre stating: "40 Meet & Greet tickets are available for an exclusive after-show Meet & Greet with the ladies." Back in March, theatre production company ABPLTD took to Instagram and posted: "AN EVENING WITH KATIE AND KERRY - ON TOUR @kerrykatona7 and @katieprice are heading out on the road this autumn for a tell-all tour sharing stories of their friendship, marriage and divorce, bankruptcy, 'I'm A Celebrity', the importance of family, their constant press attention and turning their lives around.

Katie Price forced to 'pull out of highly-anticipated tell-all tour' with Kerry Katona

Katie Price has reportedly been 'forced to pull out of her highly-anticipated tell-all tour' with Kerry Katona. The pair's show An Evening with Katie and Kerry - On Tour is set to kick off in Ellesmere Port on Thursday, September 11 and conclude in Hull on October 22. But after 'trying everything to make it work,' Katie, 46, will have to sit out the mammoth 33-date run due to childcare issues. The model is mum to Harvey, 22, with ex Dwight Yorke, Junior, 19, and Princess 17, with ex-husband Peter Andre, and Jett, 11, and Bunny, 10, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler. A source told The Sun: 'Katie is gutted and tried everything she could to make it work but she has had to step away from the tour because she has childcare commitments and also a very busy schedule.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. They added: 'She hates letting her fans down and hopes to be able to do something similar in the future. 'At the moment, it's unclear whether Kerry will continue without her or if the whole tour will be scrapped.' MailOnline has contacted Katie's representative for comment. The duo are set to share 'stories of their friendship, marriage and divorce, bankruptcy, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, the importance of family, their constant press attention and turning their lives around.' Each night will also feature singing, dancing and questions from the audience. Kerry rose to fame in 1998 as a member of the girl group Atomic Kitten, while Katie gained recognition for her glamour modelling work. When Katie went on to tie the knot with Peter Andre in 2005, Kerry supported her pal on her big day as one of her bridesmaids. However, the pair then famously fell out in 2007 when Katie called Kerry a 'druggie' and accused her husband at the time, Mark Croft, of being 'a bully'. They did not speak for months, until Kerry revealed that Katie had apologised for her comments and they have called a truce. However, by February 2008 the two had reignited their feud once more, after Kerry commented on allegations made by Katie's former nanny about her employer's abilities as a mum. Following Katie and Peter's split in 2009, Kerry took her revenge by getting very cosy with the Mysterious Girl singer and going on playdates with their kids. While both insisted they were just pals, Kerry said he would be her 'ideal' boyfriend, after they joined the same management company. Their closeness reportedly infuriated Katie, but later that year it was alleged that Kerry was hoping to reconcile their friendship. Kerry and Mark eventually divorced in 2011, after a relationship marred by cheating allegations from both parties and claims he had an 'obsession with spending her money,' that contributed to her bankruptcy. Kerry went on to admit to her drug abuse and crippling addiction, saying her marriage to Mark was 'about cocaine'. In the wake of the split, Kerry buried the hatchet with Katie again, later admitting that her friend had been 'right' when she called her out. The pair became so close that Kerry invited Katie to be her bridesmaid at her wedding to her next husband George Kay, in September 2014. However, Katie pulled out of her official duties last minute because she couldn't get into the size eight bridesmaid dress, after giving birth to daughter Bunny six weeks earlier. Despite this the BFFs seemed to still be on track, appearing together in Instagram posts and at football matches, before making joint appearances on Loose Women, where Katie gushed that the pair had a 'true friendship'. It was reported that the duo had become inseparable once again now they both lived in Sussex and had both suffered heartbreaks, with Katie's husband Kieran Hayler cheating on her and Kerry divorcing George. Despite the former foes becoming best pals once again, rumours of their war of words rising again still swirled. In September 2019, Katie was reportedly 'furious' with her friend, after the Atomic Kitten star said Katie had ' crossed the line' with her latest cosmetic surgeries. At the time Katie had displayed the results of one of her many plastic surgery sprees, after undergoing yet another face and eye lift, a breast reduction and a bum lift reversal in Turkey. In an attempt to give her a more youthful-looking visage, surgeons made incisions by her ears, and photos after the procedure showed the star sporting painful looking wounds and stitching at the base of her ears. Kerry admitted she was worried when she saw gruesome images of her pal after going under the knife once again. But The Sun reported that Katie felt as though she has been 'stabbed in the back' by her friend and sees her word as hypocritical as Kerry has also been open about having had multiple cosmetic surgeries in the past. However, Kerry denied that the pair had fallen out and said they were still 'great friends' while insisting that 'nothing could destroy their friendship'. The duo made sure to squash the feud rumours once and for all by filming a video together, poking fun at the speculation. The two TV personalities have stayed close, with their daughters even forming a strong friendship of their own, which had been credited with keeping their mothers' bond going. Katie's daughter Princess, 17, and Kerry's daughter Heidi, 18, have been best friends since birth and have brought Kerry and Katie back together many times. While both enjoy having a laugh together, Katie and Kerry have also supported each other through tough times. In July 2020, Kerry looked after Princess while Katie's son Harvey was in intensive care with a fever and breathing issues. And she was there for the star in August 2021, when Katie was hospitalised herself after being assaulted by her then fiancé Carl Woods. However, the pair still took subtle swipes at each other over the next few years, suggesting their bond wasn't always so steadfast. Kerry complained that Katie wouldn't answer her calls and that she speaks to Princess more than her mum. In February 2022, she even quipped that Katie only got in touch with her to get her advice about OnlyFans. The mother-of-five has raked in thousands on the adult subscription site, with Katie then following in her footsteps. The singer also mocked her pal for all her public scandals and her infamous relationship with ex-husband Peter. Speculation that the friendship had soured grew over recent years, until Katie shut down the rumours in February 2023. That same month, Kerry was said to have vowed to help Katie 'turn her life around' following her split from fiancé Carl. So when Katie moved on with Married At First Sight star JJ Slater, Kerry didn't hesitate to give her seal of approval and voiced her joy that her friend had found love again. After finally declaring Katie was his 'girlfriend' following a whole host of of loved-up snaps on Instagram, JJ, 31, said it would have been 'ideal' if she had been the one he was matched with on the E4 reality show, as it would have 'saved a lot of time'.
