EMPD officers arrest two men for bribery and counterfeit goods in Boksburg North The EMPD Community Liaison (CLU) Unit officers intercepted two male suspects on May 13 in Boksburg North for bribery and possession of suspected counterfeit goods. According to Katlego Mphahlele, spokesperson for EMPD, while patrolling the area, officers received information from a reliable source about a warehouse suspected of storing counterfeit goods. The officers proceeded to an industrial area on Dr Vosloorus Street. 'Upon arrival, officers found two males and explained the reason for their surprise visit. One of the men then approached the officers and offered a bribe of R30 000, requesting them to leave his business premises. 'The officers informed him of the offence he was committing and immediately placed him under arrest. They then searched the premises and discovered various branded clothing items, including Nike, Gucci, Versace, Philipp Plein, Karl Lagerfeld, Galxboy, Amiri, and Louis Vuitton.' The two suspects were arrested and taken to Boksburg North Police Station, facing charges of possession of suspected counterfeit goods and bribery. Boksburg police arrest two men for bribing officers with R30,000

Two men have been arrested by EMPD officers after they were found in a warehouse with fake designer goods in Boksburg North. Two men, aged 40 and 49, were arrested for allegedly trying to bribe Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officers with R30,000 after they were caught red-handed with various fake branded clothing items in the Boksburg North area. The men were arrested Tuesday at about 1pm by officers from the EMPD's Community Liaison Unit. EMPD spokesperson Katlego Mphahlele said that while officers were patrolling the area, they received information from a reliable source about a warehouse suspected of storing counterfeit goods. She said the officers immediately proceeded to an industrial area on Dr. Vosloorus Street. 'Upon arrival, officers found two males and explained the reason for their surprise visit. 'One male approached the officers and offered a bribe of R30,000, while requesting officers to leave his business premises,' Mphahlele said.
