"These Chinese attempts are deplorable": Major General Dhruv C Katoch slams China over attempts to rename places in Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi [India], May 14 (ANI): Major General Dhruv C Katoch on Wednesday slammed China over their attempts to rename places in Indian state Arunachal Pradesh stated that the attempts of China were 'deplorable'. 'These Chinese attempts are deplorable. For no rhyme or reason, China continues to interfere with Arunachal Pradesh...' Katoch told ANI. He also stated that the world should take notice of what China was doing in Tibet, further stating that if India took up the lead for Tibetan independence, it would be supported by the world and the United States. 'India could take up the lead for Tibetan independence, and the world, especially the United States, could support that move. Once Tibet becomes an independent country, all our problems with China will get resolved... Tibet becoming an independent country would be the long-term solution for stability in Asia,' he added. On May 14, India categorically rejected China's vain and preposterous attempts to rename places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh and emphasised that such manoeuvres would not change the reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Randhir Jaiswal, made the remarks on Wednesday while responding to the media queries on the renaming of places in Arunachal Pradesh by China. Jaiswal said, 'We have noticed that China has persisted with its vain and preposterous attempts to name places in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Consistent with our principled position, we reject such attempts categorically.' He added that such 'creative naming' will not alter the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. 'Creative naming will not alter the undeniable reality that Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India', he said. In the past, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had said, 'If today I change the name of your house, will it become mine? Arunachal Pradesh was, is and will always be a state of India. Changing names does not have an effect.' 'I think we rightly called it senseless. By doing it repeatedly, it is still senseless. So I want to be very clear. Arunachal Pradesh was, is, and will always be India,' he had said. The EAM had also emphasised, 'I hope I am saying it so clearly that not only in the country but beyond the country also, people get that message very, very clearly,' Jaishankar emphasised. India has time and again firmly rebuffed the baseless arguments by China to rename Indian territories. Arunachal Pradesh, was, is and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. "Pakistan trying to escalate again, but India gave befitting reply," says Retired Major Gen Dhruv C Katoch

New Delhi [India], May 9 (ANI): Retired Indian Army officer Major General Dhruv C Katoch on Friday asserted that Pakistan attempted to escalate tensions with India, but the Indian armed forces responded strongly, including by destroying Lahore's air defence system. Major General Katoch claimed the actions were part of a desperate move by Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir to protect his position. Speaking to ANI, Major General Katoch said, 'Pakistan is trying to escalate the situation again and again. This is the action taken by Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir... he is doing this to save his chair.' 'India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan. India's air defence system has shot down the missiles and drones fired by Pakistan... we have destroyed Lahore's air defence system,' Major General Katoch further added. Major General Katoch's remarks came after the tension between India and Pakistan across the border. On Thursday, the former Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Shirish Baban Deo (Retd), praised the Indian Air Force's (IAF) recent use of the S-400 Sudarshan Chakra missile system, which was used on Thursday night to stop targets moving toward India. Air Marshal Deo added that the S-400's accuracy is very high, and it can even take down medium-range ballistic missiles. While speaking to ANI, Air Marshal Deo said, 'It is a very capable system, perhaps the most potent system in the world. It's an entire system with three types of radars and three types of missiles, each optimised for specific targets, from low-RCS to high-speed threats. Its single-shot kill probability is extremely high, and it's accurate and effective even against medium-range ballistic missiles.' About the Harpy drone, Air Marshal said, 'Additionally, we have drones like the Harpy, which are anti-radiation drones equipped with seekers that detect active radars. Once a radar is switched on, the drone homes in on it and destroys it, even if it is later turned off. These drones can loiter in the area for 10 to 12 hours and have a video link, allowing operators to monitor their movement and strike precisely when needed. Overall, this makes the system extremely effective in neutralising enemy air defences.' (ANI)
