Amitabh Bachchan left viewers laughing on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 after opening up about his younger days when he and his college friends would sneak into weddings just for the food. The episode began with Big B welcoming rollover contestant Shruti Jain from Mumbai. When she revealed that she plans to go for a court marriage instead of a traditional wedding, the megastar couldn't resist sharing a hilarious memory. Shruti told the host that she didn't want to spend money on ceremonies and simply wanted a meaningful marriage. She added, 'Mujhe apni wedding nahi marriage acchi chahiye." Bachchan appreciated her clarity and said, 'I have learnt a new term these days, 'she is very sorted'." That is when the 81-year-old recalled a mischievous chapter from his student life. 'Hum jab college mein the toh rupaya paisa toh hota nahi tha humare paas, shayad 2 rupaya pocket money milta tha.. toh jab bhook lage shaam ko toh samajh mein nahi aata tha kya karen? Toh hum log dhoondhte the ke kahin shaadi byaah toh nahi horaha… hum log aise jaate the jaise baarati jaa rahe ho andar. Earlier in Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, Amitabh Bachchan had opened up about a phase when he survived entirely on panipuris while working in Calcutta (now Kolkata). Amitabh Bachchan recalled his early days in the city, when he was employed as a business executive at Bird & Company and earned a salary of just Rs 300-400 a month. With limited means, he often depended on the phuchkas sold near Victoria Memorial to get by, calling them the finest he had ever eaten. Meanwhile, Shruti admitted she was still pinching herself about sitting on the hot seat. She confessed to feeling nervous but grateful to be playing opposite the legendary host.
