Five fans honour a lost friend… by keeping a Welshman on the pitch
T hursday evening in Brisbane, the Pig 'n' Whistle is starting to fill with fans wearing red and you are reminded that there may be no sporting event that brings people together quite like the British & Irish Lions.
Keith Breen, an Irishman and former prop who lives in Cornwall, is here with Stuart Lewis, the Welsh full back who now lives in Switzerland, with whom he used to play at Braintree RFC in Essex in the Nineties. They are joined by Paul Hammacot, another Welshman who played on the wing for that Braintree team, whom they still call 'China' because he broke so easily.
They were out for a walk in the morning, they say, when they saw Jac Morgan. Cue obvious jokes that that's the only time we'll see a Welsh Lion all tour.
