Indiana Fever Rookie Makes Honest Admission on WNBA Teammates

Indiana Fever Rookie Makes Honest Admission on WNBA Teammates originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Makayla Timpson is just 22 years old but is already becoming a key contributor for the Indiana Fever. After helping the team win the Commissioner's Cup championship Tuesday over the Minnesota Lynx, she and the Fever are preparing for another big matchup Thursday night. Advertisement Timpson was the 19th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. The forward from Florida State has appeared in nine games so far this season, though she hasn't started any. She's averaging just 3.3 minutes per game, but her playing time is slowly trending upward. Timpson logged nearly 14 minutes in a recent road game against Dallas, scoring three points and grabbing two rebounds. Then, in Tuesday's win over Minnesota, she played 10 minutes and 41 seconds and added two more rebounds. Before Thursday's game, Timpson spoke to the media and was asked about playing with her teammates. "Who is in your ear about being aggressive the most?" Advertisement She didn't hesitate with her answer. "Keith, AB, Tash, Kels, CC. they'll let you know, go get every rebound," Timpson said. "Also coach, she tells me that. Just doing what I do.' She was referring to player development coach Keith Porter, hired by the Fever in December 2024. Timpson also credited teammates Aliyah Boston, Natasha Howard, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark, as well as head coach Stephanie White. Clark, in her second WNBA season, is second on the team in scoring behind Kelsey Mitchell, who's averaging 18.9 points per game. Aliyah Boston leads the team in rebounding at 8.2 per game, while Howard is averaging 6.5. After Thursday's contest against Las Vegas, Indiana will host the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday.
