#SHOWBIZ: Intan Najuwa: Cyberbullying can kill the soul
ACTRESS Datin Intan Najuwa, 28, has raised concerns about the rising issue of cyberbullying and its impact on mental health.
The 'Kekasih Paksa Rela' star revealed that she chooses not to read comments or direct messages (DMs) on social media to protect her emotional and mental well-being.
"I've always taken the approach of not reading comments or DMs," she said at the recent Fizi Woo fashion show for Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW).
"I receive a lot of negative comments, but I refuse to read them for the sake of my mental health. We can't control what people think of us, so the best thing to do is not read the comments, as I also don't like blocking people on social media."
Intan shared that it's not just her who is targeted; her eight-month-old daughter, Imane Lunara, has also received criticism.
However, the Johor Baru-born actress said that she doesn't take it to heart because she believes those who leave negative comments don't know her or her family personally.
"I know who I am. They are free to say whatever they want, as long as I know the truth," she said.
Intan also had a message for such 'keyboard warriors', urging them to be more mindful of the impact of their words.
"Be careful when you leave comments because it can have a big impact on the victim. Everyone has their own struggles in life, so be kind because we don't know what they are going through.
