PM visits comedian Amir Raja Lawak, offers support
KOTA BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today met with actor and comedian Mohammad Amirullah Azmi, known as Amir Raja Lawak, at his fried chicken shop in the compound of Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV.
The meeting followed a social media post by Amir, 36, in which he expressed hope for a visit from the prime minister. Anwar, who spent about 30 minutes at the shop, was accompanied by Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
During the visit, Anwar enquired about the health of Amir's father, who is currently at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM), and asked about issues affecting the comedian.
The prime minister and the Menteri Besar also gave a cash contribution to Amir before leaving. The visit took place after Anwar officiated the closing ceremony of the Kelantan Madani Rakyat Programme (PMR) here today.
