Ladies and Laughter show going on this week benefitting Erie Cancer Wellness Center

Just a few of Erie's funniest women will be cracking jokes for a good cause. Comedy show Ladies and Laughter' will take place at Kellar's Comedy Club on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Seven local women will do standup comedy, bringing their best jokes to raise money for the Erie Cancer Wellness Center. Penn State Behrend welcomes students for annual Math Options Career Day The center serves as a community space with over 30 programs to assist anyone who has been impacted by cancer 'We're really blessed to have a fanstatic team of volunteers and staff who really help to make our mission possible i dont know anyone who has not been impacted by cancer in some way shape or form and really it takes a whole community to make us who we are,' said Katelyn Kruszewski, marketing & development coordinator for the Erie Cancer Wellness Center. Morning lane closures planned for I-90 this week 'This is one of the things that I like doing is helping different charities raise money to help their operational costs and this time the Erie Cancer Wellness Center was chosen to do that because of the great work that they do,' said John Groh, the organizer for Ladies & Laughter. The last day of the Flagship Comedy Festival left its mark on comedians in a special way. Guests filled the 1020 Collective to watch local and national comedy acts take the stage. Flagship City Comedy Festival's weekend performers left patrons in stitches 'Inked Comedy' is a unique comedy experience featuring comics getting a tattoo live during their set. The act was a festival favorite in 2024 and continued to keep both comics and audiences on the edge of their seat. Band Together Erie, Kellar's Comedy Club team up for autism friendly open mic night The founder of this event, Anthony Morelli, said the idea came to him while getting a tattoo. 'It happened here at 1020 Collective with Less Hess, who owns Andromeda Studios, during the 40 under 40 party, 2022. I was fortunate enough to be honored with that, and they were doing live tattoos here, to a less tattooed me. I was making her laugh while she was tattooing me, and that's when the lightbulb came on,' said Morelli. The final Flagship Comedy event took place Sunday evening, featuring headliner Ben Roy. Band Together Erie, Kellar's Comedy Club team up for autism friendly open mic night

An organization teamed up with a local comedy club to bring together a special open mic event. Band Together Erie is a group that focuses on those on the autism spectrum to help inspire them through music and creativity. Autism Society of NWPA hosts 24th annual Walk for Autism The organization teamed up with Kellar's Comedy Club to provide a stage for an autism friendly open mic night. 'These events are important to have for one thing: they understand that they're not isolated. There's a whole bunch of us here today that have similar interests and things that we are concerned about, and things like that, and for Erie, this is going to be a great thing,' said Ron Esser, co-founder of Band Together Pittsburgh.
