Man arrested after high-risk traffic stop conducted by Grand Forks police
May 16—GRAND FORKS — A Minnesota man was arrested after failing to stop and then leading police on a chase in Grand Forks.
The incident occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15. According to a release from the Grand Forks Police Department, a GFPD officer observed a 2009 Dodge Ram violating traffic laws and attempted to stop the truck. The driver, however, continued on.
As the vehicle approached the intersection of DeMers Avenue and South 20th Street, "officers were able to use their patrol vehicles to block it in," the release said. "A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and the driver was taken into custody without incident."
Kelly Cleven, 58, of Warroad, Minnesota, was arrested and charged with fleeing in a motor vehicle and preventing arrest. There were no injuries.
