Severe weather delays Pacers' arrival in Oklahoma City for NBA Finals
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Indiana Pacers' arrival in Oklahoma City for the NBA Finals has been delayed by weather. Forecasters issued a tornado warning, flood watch and severe thunderstorm watch for Oklahoma City and much of the surrounding areas on Tuesday afternoon, all while the Pacers' charter flight was in the air. The flight was diverted to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and refueled, and the team was planning to arrive in Oklahoma City later Tuesday evening. Oklahoma City's airport arrivals and departures were interrupted by heavy rain and wind. The Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder are scheduled to appear at the NBA Finals media day on Wednesday at the arena that will host Game 1 of the title series on Thursday night. There was at least one tornado spotted in Norman, Oklahoma, near the University of Oklahoma campus, on Tuesday afternoon. It was not immediately known if the tornado touched down or caused any damage. Norman is about 20 miles south of Oklahoma City. Seattle Sounders players wear T-shirts to protest Club World Cup prize money distribution
The Seattle Sounders players wore T-shirts before a match Sunday that read 'Club World Cup Ca$h Grab' to demand a share of the prize money for participating in the upcoming international tournament. The Sounders, one of 32 teams set to play in the Club World Cup later this month, wore the shirts before kickoff of their match against Minnesota United. Major League Soccer's Players Association issued a statement in solidarity with the protest. 'FIFA's new tournament piles on to players' ever-increasing workload without regard to their physical well-being. In order to seize this additional calendar territory, FIFA had to commit historic amounts of prize money to secure club and player participation,' the MLSPA statement said. 'As a result, MLS will receive an unprecedented windfall. Despite the windfall, the league has refused to allocate a fair percentage of those funds to the players themselves.' The Sounders are among three MLS teams taking part in the Club World Cup, along with Inter Miami and LAFC. The tournament, which features an expanded field of club teams from around the globe, starts June 14 and will be played across 11 U.S. cities. The Sounders will earn $9.55 million as a club for participating in the tournament, with a chance to win additional prize money from wins. The MLSPA said the players have invited the league to discuss bonus terms but that 'MLS has failed to bring forward a reasonable proposal.' Currently, there is a provision of the collective bargaining agreement that caps how much prize money can go to players at $1 million. Winnipeg Jets Game Days On Winnipeg Jets game days, hockey writers Mike McIntyre and Ken Wiebe send news, notes and quotes from the morning skate, as well as injury updates and lineup decisions. Arrives a few hours prior to puck drop. Major League Soccer declined to comment because negotiations with MLSPA are ongoing. The Sounders' starters posed for the pregame photo wearing the T-shirts, which also said 'Fair Share Now' on the back. 'It is the players who make the game possible. It is the players who are lifting MLS up on the global stage,' the MLSPA said in its statement. 'They expect to be treated fairly and with respect.' ___ AP soccer:

MUNICH (AP) — Paris Saint-Germain is going for its first Champions League title when it takes on Inter Milan in the final on Saturday. Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Arsenal Women parade trophies in front of jubilant fans
LONDON (AP) — It was a day for trophy parades in English soccer on Monday as fans of Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Arsenal Women celebrated their teams winning titles this season. Thousands of supporters gathered outside Emirates Stadium in north London to watch Arsenal's players lift the Women's Champions League trophy after they returned from Lisbon, where they beat Barcelona 1-0 in the final on Saturday. Donning shirts with 'Champions 25' on the back, Arsenal's players — some wearing sunglasses despite the gray sky — were introduced individually onto a stage to the backdrop of cheers. Over in south London, a bus containing Palace players wound through the streets on its long route to the team's Selhurst Park home as the club paraded the FA Cup — the first major trophy in its 119-year history. Palace beat Manchester City 1-0 in the final on May 17. In Liverpool city center, tens of thousands of fans were expected to attend Liverpool's trophy parade throughout the afternoon after the team won the Premier League for a record-tying 20th top-flight championship title.
