New details in McDonald's assault
UPDATE (Aug. 8, 5:37 p.m.): News 5 has learned new details on an assault that happened at the McDonald's Wednesday morning.
As previously reported, a man allegedly attacked someone at the McDonald's at 3116 Dauphin Island Parkway.
A Mobile Police Department spokesman said the alleged attacker and the woman he reportedly attacked both worked at the store.
They were inside the store when 38-year-old Kenneth Riggins reportedly 'unprovoked' started hitting the woman.

The woman was taken to the hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries and Riggins was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.

According to a Mobile Police Department news release, on Wednesday at about 5:20 a.m., officers were called to the McDonald's at 3116 Dauphin Island Parkway in reference to an assault.
INCIDENT LOCATION:
When officers arrived, they were told that a man was unprovoked when he began hitting a person repeatedly, the release said.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries, and 38-year-old Kenneth Riggins was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
Mobile traffic signals to be removed
Riggins was taken to Metro Jail, according to the release.
