Home favourite Wu Ashun charged to a second Volvo China Open triumph on Sunday, a decade after his first, as five back-nine birdies propelled him to a final-round 65 and a one-stroke victory in Shanghai. Advertisement The Chinese veteran rolled back the years to thrill packed home galleries at Anting Golf Club as he carded just one bogey, on the fifth, against seven birdies, to finish at 14-under par 270. It was enough to give the 39-year-old a one-stroke margin over playing partner Jordan Smith of England, who had a 67, as overnight leaders Eugenio Chacarra and Li Haotong faltered after both began at 12-under. Germany's Yannick Paul was third, two strokes behind Wu on 272, after signing for a two-under 69. 'It's very special,' Wu said as he celebrated his fifth win on the European-based tour – his maiden triumph had come in the same event at the Tomson course across Shanghai in 2015. Advertisement 'That was 10 years ago and coming back to Shanghai, I win again. I mean, it's amazing,' Wu added after his first DP World Tour victory since the 2022 Kenya Open.

NAIROBI, Kenya — Jacques Kruyswijk held on to win the Kenya Open on Sunday and lift his first European tour title. The South African shot a 4-under 67 at Nairobi's Muthaiga GC to finish 18 under for the tournament and two strokes clear of second-place John Parry (68). The 32-year-old Kruyswijk completed the weekend bogey free and carded four birdies in the final round. Having started the day one shot ahead, Kruyswijk was overtaken by Parry within five holes, but back-to-back birdies on Nos. 6 and 7 saw him regain the lead. 'I'm happy that I can keep the trophy on African soil and obviously bring it back to South Africa,' Kruyswijk said. ___ AP golf:

South African Kruyswijk pips Parry to win Kenya Open
South African Jacques Kruyswijk has fought off the challenge of England's John Parry to claim his first European tour title at the Kenya Open in Nairobi. Kruyswijk took a one-shot lead into the final round at Muthaiga Golf Club on Sunday but was overtaken at the top of the leaderboard early on after playing partner Parry made back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth. After reclaiming the lead with successive birdies of his own on the sixth and seventh, Kruyswijk never loosened his grip, making further gains at the 10th and 16th to extend his advantage. Parry's second-place finish continues his love affair with Africa, where he has recorded a win and two runners-up finishes in three appearances this season. Kruyswijk said: "It's special. I'm a little bit lost for words but this is for my family back home, my friends, my team and this is for South Africa." The South African now moves to second on the Race to Dubai rankings behind England's Tyrrell Hatton. No Australian made the cut in Nairobi, with Elvis Smyle still the top Aussie in the Race to Dubai in ninth place. David Micheluzzi is 22nd and Jason Scrivener 31st.
