Action against Shine will be decided after ICC report, says film chamber
The Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has stated that a decision on the action to be taken against actor Shine Tom Chacko over the allegations of drug abuse and misbehaviour raised against him by actor Vincy Aloshious will be taken after receiving the report of the internal complaints committee (ICC) of the movie Soothravakyam. The KFCC is the co-ordinating body of the monitoring committee set up against workplace harassment of women in the Malayalam film industry. The ICC of the movie will submit its report before the committee for follow-up action. Allegation raised Vincy had alleged that Shine had misbehaved with her on the set of Soothravakyam and was found spitting a white powder while rehearsing a scene. Saji Nanthiattu, general secretary of the KFCC, said on Friday that the ICC was expected to submit the report within 10 days of launching the probe into the complaints. The chamber has made it already clear that it will not be lenient in the fight against drug menace on film sets and those responsible for such violations will feel the heat, he said. He criticised the meeting between Mr. Chacko and the leadership of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala in Kochi on Tuesday. After the meeting, the federation representatives had announced that the actor would be given one more chance for a course correction. 'I feel it was inappropriate for the federation to have made such a statement, especially when the ICC's probe was progressing,' he said. As job providers, it remains the mandate of the producers to take such a call after analysing the complaints related to professional misconduct. The presence of the producer of Soothravakyam at the meeting was also unwarranted, he said.

Kerala actor Shine Tom Chacko on the run after dramatic hotel escape in Kochi: Is he in Tamil Nadu?
Dubai: Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko is currently absconding after a dramatic escape from a police drug raid at a Kochi hotel on April 16. According to reports, the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) arrived for a surprise inspection late Tuesday night, prompting Chacko to flee through a third-floor window. CCTV footage shows him descending to a lower floor, running through a corridor, and leaping into a swimming pool before disappearing from the scene with two others. The raid followed a formal complaint by actress Vincy Aloshious, who accused Chacko of misbehaving with her and allegedly consuming drugs on the sets of their film Soothravakyam. The complaint has been submitted to both the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). While no drugs were recovered from Chacko's hotel room, authorities suspect he may have been tipped off about the impending raid.
