Chandigarh: Amidst reports of increased incidence of heinous crimes in the state, Haryana chief minister Nayab Saini on Friday called on Union home and cooperative minister

. During his meeting, which is learned to have lasted for around an hour, Saini discussed the law and order situation and the preparedness of the state for the implementation of three new criminal laws.
Notably, Saini's visit to Shah's office is seen as a crucial development, as this came a day after Jind district saw its 39th murder, that too of a medico who happened to be the son of a BJP mandal president in Safidon. Officials of the state govt and those close to the CMO denied any specific discussion on law and order. However, the officials admitted to discussing the state's preparedness for the CET exam as well as organising a major event in the state regarding the three new criminal laws.
Even Saini, while interacting with mediapersons after meeting Shah, said several important issues, including the Keshau Dam, were discussed in detail with the Union minister. In addition, Amit Shah was apprised of the progress of various welfare schemes and development programs being implemented in the state.
In response to a question, the CM said all necessary arrangements were made for the CET examination. Lakhs of candidates will appear for the exam across the state on July 26 and 27. He added that officials were directed to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the candidates.
The CM further said that recruitment in the Haryana Police will be initiated soon. Directions have already been issued to the concerned officials to complete all necessary preparations.
