Pune Couple Assaulted, Their Car Vandalised By Drunk Bikers In Road Rage Case
A couple in Pune was assaulted by a group of drunk bikers following an altercation on the road. The husband sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised, while the woman was also physically attacked. In a road rage case from Maharashtra's Pune, a couple was allegedly assaulted by a group of drunk men riding two-wheelers. The incident happened on April 18. In an Instagram post, the woman, who identified herself as Ketaki Bhujbal, alleged that two men, riding a two-wheeler under the influence of alcohol, were not allowing anyone to pass. As they honked them, the men allegedly stopped by and confronted the couple. As the two parties got involved in a heated exchange, the bikers allegedly first attacked the woman's husband, Amal, and then attacked their car with stones. advetisement The woman also alleged four more men joined the rage and held his husband, while two others continued to hit him. Later, the riders also allegedly thrashed the woman, kicked her in the stomach and hit her in the face. The couple later approached the police and submitted a First Information Report (FIR) against those accused. PUNE ROAD RAGE CASE: VIDEO SURFACES A video of the road rage, being widely shared on social media, showed a group of men assaulting a person in the driver's seat and trying to stop the car as it sped away. The windows of the car could be seen shattered, with pieces of glass and some stones lying nearby. Sources with the Pune Police said the couple was driving an SUV and honked at the bikers, which led to a verbal spat between the two parties. advetisement Moments later, the man driving the car abused the bikers, thus escalating the scuffle. The situation resulted in a road rage as locals joined the bikers. advetisement Police sources also said the bikers were locals with no criminal records. WHAT THE COUPLE ALLEGED ON SOCIAL MEDIA 'On 18th April 2025, around 11 pm, my husband and I were coming back home from Mukund Nagar after having dinner with our friend and her family. On our way at Pashan circle, we saw 2 drunk men on an Activa bike riding in between and not letting us pass. That's when Amal honked, this man who was riding the bike started banging on our window asking why did you honk. And blocked us for next 20 meters that's when we stopped the car on the side and asked him what is the problem," the woman wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. 'This man became extremely aggressive and started hitting Amal. Seeing this I also got out of the car. Suddenly out of nowhere 4 more people came, and everyone started beating Amal. 4 people were holding him and 2 of them were hitting," she alleged. 'They used big stones to hit him and even sticks. When I tried to help Amal escape one boy from this kicked me in my stomach and hit me on my face. They got so aggressive that they threw big stones and broke all the glasses and lights and our car is in a big mess now. We somehow managed to escape this situation during which they scratched amals ear and broke his nose, and threw stones inside the car which hit us both," her post read.
