Pune Couple Kicked, Punched; Their Car Vandalised By Drunk Bikers In Road Rage Case
A couple in Pune was assaulted by a group of drunk bikers following an altercation on the road. The husband sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised, while the woman was also physically attacked.
In a road rage case from Maharashtra's Pune, a couple was allegedly assaulted by a group of drunk men riding two-wheelers. The incident happened on April 18.
In an Instagram post, the woman, who identified herself as Ketaki Bhujbal, alleged that two men, riding a two-wheeler under the influence of alcohol, were not allowing anyone to pass.
As they honked them, the men allegedly stopped by and confronted the couple. As the two parties got involved in a heated exchange, the bikers allegedly first attacked the woman's husband, Amal, and then attacked their car with stones.
The woman also alleged four more men joined the rage and held his husband, while two others continued to hit him.
Later, the riders also allegedly thrashed the woman, kicked her in the stomach and hit her in the face.
The couple later approached the police and submitted a First Information Report (FIR) against those accused.
Three of those accused in the case were arrested, and further investigations were underway.
A video of the road rage, being widely shared on social media, showed a group of men assaulting a person in the driver's seat and trying to stop the car as it sped away.
The windows of the car could be seen shattered with pieces of glass and some stones lying nearby.
WHAT THE COUPLE ALLEGED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
'On 18th April 2025, around 11 pm, my husband and I were coming back home from Mukund Nagar after having dinner with our friend and her family. On our way at Pashan circle, we saw 2 drunk men on an Activa bike riding in between and not letting us pass. That's when Amal honked, this man who was riding the bike started banging on our window asking why did you honk. And blocked us for next 20 meters that's when we stopped the car on the side and asked him what is the problem," the woman wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.
'This man became extremely aggressive and started hitting Amal. Seeing this I also got out of the car. Suddenly out of nowhere 4 more people came, and everyone started beating Amal. 4 people were holding him and 2 of them were hitting," she alleged.
'They used big stones to hit him and even sticks. When I tried to help Amal escape one boy from this kicked me in my stomach and hit me on my face. They got so aggressive that they threw big stones and broke all the glasses and lights and our car is in a big mess now. We somehow managed to escape this situation during which they scratched amals ear and broke his nose, and threw stones inside the car which hit us both," her post read.
'(We got a small video someone shot while we were escaping shows how aggressive and dangerous this situation became.) We directly went to my brother who took us both to Chaturshrungi police station where we launched a FIR against these people and got Amal admitted in ICU at Sai Shree hospital in Aundh."
'Amal has a nasal fracture and few more injuries and I have a stomach swelling sonography report. I am Ketaki Bhujbal, born and bought up in this area. Everyone knows me as 'wadit li porgi' who was so bindaas and proud of our city our area our country is even scared to step out of the house to go to work and checking the doors at home 100 times and traumatised with this horrifying incident," she wrote.
'Worst part is that people on the road stopped and took videos from their vehicles. They saw this as an entertainment I guess but none of them came and helped. What is wrong with humanity ? Who is safe and where ?They could so easily hit a lady. Who are these people? Why is this so common in our country ?" her post read.

Airtel cracks down on online fraud in T.N., blocks 1,80,000 malicious links
As part of the nationwide rollout of its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered fraud detection system, Airtel has blocked over 1,80,000 malicious links and safeguarded more than 3 million users across the State. Automatically enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers, the advanced system scans and filters links across SMS, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, e-mail, and other browsers. It leverages real-time threat intelligence to examine over 1 billion URLs daily and blocks access to harmful sites in under 100 milliseconds, said the Airtel in a press release. For instance, if a resident in Salem receives a suspicious message that reads: 'Your package is delayed. Track it here: And if the unsuspecting resident then clicks on the link, Airtel's system also clicks into gear. It instantly scans the link and if flagged as suspicious, it blocks access. The user is redirected to a warning message that reads: 'Blocked! Airtel found this site dangerous!' All this instantaneously. This real-time interception prevents users from falling victim to all kinds of frauds. Tarun Virmani, CEO-Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Bharti Airtel, said that at a time when digital threats were becoming more advanced and widespread, the need for a strong and dependable secure mobile network was more essential than ever. Commenting at the event, Sandeep Mittal, Additional Director General of Police, Cyber Crime Wing, said: 'We are pleased that the Airtel team informed us and offered a comprehensive overview of their initiative for fraud detection solutions, detailing its goals and operational methodology.'

Conmen siphon 21L from New Town man
Kolkata: A New Town resident fell victim to a cyber investment fraud, losing Rs 21,40,700 through a modus operandi that mimicked legitimate financial services. The scam started when Bhanja Kishore Mohanty, a resident of Action Area-III, clicked an Instagram link that eventually added him to a WhatsApp group aimed at "wealth generation". The group was allegedly led by one Ashish Kehair, who claimed to be the managing director, with an assistant named Kangna Sharma, the managing operations. The fraudsters orchestrated an elaborate scheme involving block trading, preferential allotments, and IPO investments. To establish credibility, they allowed Mohanty to withdraw Rs 2,000 early in the scheme. Between April 7 and May 21, Mohanty made multiple investments. The fraud came to light when he attempted to withdraw Rs 5 lakh on May 5 after a supposed IPO sale. A similar withdrawal attempt on May 22 led to the same result. "The withdrawal was rejected, and the scammers demanded an additional 'commission' of Rs 29 lakh followed by a 'subscription service charge' of Rs 28 lakh," said a cop. "They asked me to pay upfront and refused to adjust them against my invested funds," said Mohanty. "When I questioned this, they stopped responding."
