The production also involves Hamilton-based French Toast Films. 'LICE,' involving the production company of 'Entourage' star Kevin Connolly, started shooting May 13 and is the latest horror flick to shoot in the Hammer. On the first day of filming at the Main Street East landmark, cameras shot a scene outside the Graham Avenue entrance of the school, which closed to students in 2019. Actors were dressed up like high school students, carrying knapsacks and wearing letter jackets. Cars in the parking lot were 1970s vintage, including a Chevrolet and an Oldsmobile. The ornate front of the school had a blue American mailbox out front and a large American flag on the flagpole. A truck pulled up carrying emergency vehicles, including an ambulance, a sheriff's truck and a police car with a logo for the Des Plaines police department and the motto 'Dignity, Determination, Decency.' Connolly, 51, is best known for his role as the agent Eric Murphy (known as 'E') in the HBO series 'Entourage,' which ran from 2004-2011 and was also a 2015 movie. He's also a producer and director. His company is Action Park Media. Connolly arrived in Hamilton in January to scout locations and came to the school. Since coming here, he has found his way a number of times to the End Zone Bar & Grill across the street from the school. 'I love Hamilton,' he told The Spec at the set. Dominic Ewenson, president of French Toast Films, which was involved in the Hamilton-filmed 'The Love Club' movies, is one of the co-producers. He said he was approached a while ago by the American producers and said he's excited about the project. Ewenson moved French Toast Films from Toronto to Hamilton last year. 'This is the main location for the film, but I'm sure there will be a few shots we will be doing here and there,' Ewenson told The Spec adding filming will last about a month and about 70 people are working on the movie. 'We're very proud to be able to bring a show here and be able to put some money into the local economy and encourage the film infrastructure in Hamilton,' Ewenson said. Dominic Ewenson, president of Hamilton-based French Toast Films, is helping make the horror movie 'LICE' at the former Delta Secondary School. Postproduction has not yet been set, but it sounds like the movie will have a theatrical release. 'Stay tuned,' Ewenson said. 'We're sure this will end up where everyone can watch. We're hoping for a wide release, so hopefully everyone can see it sometime next year.' Emile Hirsch, Justin Long and Kevin Connolly Teaming for Parasite Horror ‘Lice,' Highland Film Group Selling in Cannes (EXCLUSIVE)

A parasitic invasion of lice is set to hit Long Island in an upcoming feature described as a horror mashup of 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Lord of the Flies.' Simply entitled 'Lice,' the feature marks the first from Kevin Connolly's ActionPark Productions alongside partner Patrick Marino, and is set to star Emile Hirsch ('Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' 'Into the Wild'), Justin Long ('Barbarian,' 'Goosebumps'), and Connolly ('Entourage') himself. The film — billed as a 'gruesome throwback to '80s high school classics' — begins production this week in Canada. Director/cinematographer Jonathan Bensimon makes his feature directorial debut with a script written by Anthony Musella and Shaun Harris ('The Hemingway Thief'), from an original concept by Connolly. The film is produced by Connolly, Jeremy Alter, and Gary Goldman, who recently collaborated on 'Entourage' creator Doug Ellin's 'Ramble On,' which starred Charlie Sheen, Connolly and Kevin Dillon. 'Lice' follows a deadly outbreak of the parasite at a Long Island high school in the 1980s. When the school goes under military lockdown, the itch-crazed students turn on each other in a desperate struggle to survive. Hirsch stars as burned-out science teacher Mr. Shanker, who finds new purpose as he investigates the bloodthirsty mites, Long as Principal Van, a man who is out of his depth and soon out of his mind, and Connolly as the tenacious Detective Sikorski, the desperate cop on the outside racing against time to contain the outbreak before it consumes the entire town. 'I wanted to make the kind of movies that I loved as a kid,' said Connolly. 'I'm a horror fan and I wanted to make something for guys like me — fun, weird, scary, and completely unpredictable. It made perfect sense to launch our feature division with a project this bold and ambitious. Jonathan Bensimon is that rare combination of creative mind and brilliant technician. And when you get two incredible actors who can blend comedy and drama the way Emile and Justin can, you've really got something special on your hands.' Added Bensimon: 'Kevin Connolly sent me a script that was a real pager turner and with him and Shaun Harris we turned it into a pulpy horror feature with a cast that deftly mixes darkness and levity to create something truly unique. I'm especially excited to collaborate with Kodak and Cinestill, blending stylistic techniques, to design visuals to give 'Lice' a signature look.' 'Lice is stylish, visually arresting, and hilariously disturbing—everything I love in a project,' said producer Alter. Fellow producer Gary Goldman added, 'Kevin and I have been looking to do a movie like this together since Entourage. It's just such a great concept and something that is a core fear for most parents.' Hirsch is represented by Stride Management and UTA; Long is repped by Independent Artist Group and Yorn, Levine, Barnes. Flooded dog park farm reopens after 'overwhelming' community donations

A dog park and farm which was destroyed by flooding on New Year's Day has been able to reopen thanks to thousands raised from community Reilly and her co-owners bought farmland in Urmston, Trafford just over a year ago, converting it into a dog park, café and farm but severe flooding caused hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of weeks later, Barrowfield Dog Park is back open for business thanks to generosity from the community but the owners said they were still seeking answers over the flooding. Ms Reilly said she was "overwhelmed" by the support and felt "incredibly lucky" to reopen but mistakes had been made and "somebody needs to be held accountable". The Environment Agency (EA) said it was investigating what went wrong in the area after the nearby River Mersey burst its banks on New Year's Manchester Police had declared a major incident on 1 January over flooding in parts of Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire. An EA spokesperson said evidence showed flood defences had "performed as they should during flooding near Urmston".However, the watchdog said if its review showed there was a need to adjust thresholds there would be changes made to the flood warning service "to give people vital time to prepare in advance".Ms Reilly said she and her team had never seen anything like it before."We were just astounded of the speed that the water came in, the sheer volume of water," she said."People who have lived round here for years and years have never seen flooding like it". Her co-owner Kevin Connolly said they had experienced flooding before as the business was built on a flood plain but they felt they were given no warning ahead of the deluge on 1 said the business lost hundreds of thousands of pounds in farming machinery, equipment, and animal this, the business has managed to open thanks to an online fundraiser which has raised £5,000, and they also had donations from local businesses. Janet Smith who brings her dog to the park said it was a "lovely area, a great atmosphere". "When the weather gets better we will be back here supporting the business, and bringing our friends with the dogs and the horses and supporting our local community," she added. Ms Reilly added that the farm would not be open again if it was not for the community. "We have just been incredibly lucky and overwhelmed by the sheer volume of support we have received," she added. "If it wasn't for our community, our friends, our family, our suppliers, we simply wouldn't be able to be back where we are today". The EA said it always carried out a review after flood warnings were issued to see if improvements were needed for the future.
