The Aussie wrestler who has been anointed the new Hulk Hogan by WWE Hall of Famer
Wrestling fans will have a new icon to cheer for in the coming years, with a WWE superstar and hall of famer declaring an Aussie star to be the next Hulk Hogan. Rhea Ripley is an Australian professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, performing on the Raw brand who has taken the world by storm. She's a multiple-time champion and one of the most dominant figures in modern women's wrestling with over six million followers on Instagram. Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, stunned the world on Friday when he died aged 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Florida. He rose to global fame in the 1980s, becoming the face of WWE and one of wrestling's most iconic figures. Hogan's charisma, signature leg drop, and catchphrase 'Whatcha gonna do, brother?' helped launch WrestleMania into a worldwide phenomenon. He later reinvented himself as Hollywood Hogan in WCW, leading the influential New World Order (NWO) faction. Kevin Nash is a former professional wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer, who was also a founding member of the New World Order. One of his most notable moments with Hulk Hogan came in 1996 when they joined forces with Scott Hall to form the NWO, turning Hogan heel and revolutionising wrestling storylines. In May, Nash told the Wrestling News podcast that he saw the same qualities in Ripley as he did in Hogan. 'Rhea, so athletic,' Nash said. 'She's Rhea. Looks like she could, like she could go against probably 50% of the male roster.' 'I saw Hogan work, and I swore Hogan was six nine, because his was, he was just bigger than life, his charisma, everything else. 'It's the same thing with Rhea. I thought Rhea was like a six-foot 185-pound girl, and she's probably five seven, right? Nash believes Ripley has the same athleticism and larger-than-life persona that Hogan did 'You know, she's just, but, but on TV, the way she moves, you know, she's just, she comes across as big of a life. Which, which stars do.' 'I'm just a mark for her. She pulls everything off.' Ripley began her WWE journey in 2017 and quickly gained attention in the Mae Young Classic. She became the first-ever NXT UK Women's Champion, making history as WWE's first female Australian titleholder. Her dominance continued in NXT, where she captured the Women's Championship and defended it at WrestleMania 36. After moving to the main roster, Ripley joined The Judgment Day faction and became a fixture in high-profile storylines. In 2023, she won the Royal Rumble from the number one entry spot, an unmatched feat in the women's division. That same year, she defeated Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 in a widely praised title match. Her reign as Women's World Champion lasted 380 days, tying the record for the longest in WWE history. Ripley has also held the Raw Women's and Women's Tag Team titles, becoming a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion. Her popularity soared beyond wrestling, becoming the most-played female character in WWE 2K25. She even went viral after beating Conor McGregor in a strength contest during a media event.

Kevin Nash Urges Raquel Rodriguez to Embrace Her Biggest Advantage in the Ring
WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash wants Raquel Rodriguez to use her size advantage against opponents. On the Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash criticized Raquel Rodriguez for minimizing her presence in the ring. He explained that she often sells moves in a way that makes her appear smaller. He wants her standing tall and using her size to her advantage. 'I get pissed off at her because she always works down. She works small. I'll see her selling and she'll make herself small instead of staying up and selling big, like moving your hands this way instead of dropping so you can get drop down to them. They got to teeter to knock you off your f***ing base when you're that much bigger than them.' Kevin Nash says Raquel Rodriguez could create more drama by using her power Nash wants to see Rodriguez could create more dramatic sequences by using her size to remain on her feet longer instead of going down easily against her opponents. 'You can work 20, 30 seconds of just teetering where then that person hits the ropes. Oh, here it comes now and then she gets her foot up, boom, cuts her off. She's working too small.' 'As a person tries to knock you down, then they use more momentum, eventually you want them to use the ropes, which now here comes the high spot that either you're going to take the bump or in this case if you're getting heat, then you cut the person off.' [H/T: PWMania] Since making her return at WWE Bad Blood last year, Raquel Rodriguez has primarily competed in the tag team division. However, she has also taken part in several singles matches against top names like Rhea Ripley, Roxanne Perez, Kairi Sane, and Lyra Valkyria. Despite her clear power advantage, Rodriguez has suffered losses against these opponents. Kevin Nash Praises Raquel Rodriguez For Changing Up Her In-Ring Style
Kevin Nash likes what he's been seeing from Raquel Rodriguez recently. Earlier this month, Kevin Nash made it clear he wasn't a fan of Raquel Rodriguez working small against talents she's bigger than. Rodriguez was informed of the criticism and said she was going to make a change. A change which Nash has seen and approves of. On the latest episode of Kliq This: The Kevin Nash Podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about the recent change in Raquel's work and praised what he saw from her earlier this month at Evolution 2. 'I also want to give a shout-out to Raquel, who I thought really picked her game up. She was strong in Evolution,' Nash said. 'She really worked strong in the tag match. I thought she dominated in the tag match… all of a sudden, it's just like, she worked big, and man, what a difference it made. Like, she just dominated that match.' Nash revealed he hopes to get a chance to sit down with Rodriguez SummerSlam weekend and offer her more advice. 'I'm gonna sit down with her at SummerSlam if I get a chance. I'm gonna teach her how to be lazy,' Nash joked. 'There's just no reason why she needs to be bumping for little, tiny people… When she bumps, it should be Rhea, or somebody of that caliber.' Kevin Nash Slams Critics Who Were Mad At Goldberg's Comments About His Retirement Match
Kevin Nash isn't a fan of people giving Goldberg a hard time for having criticisms on how his retirement match was handled. On the latest episode of Kliq This: The Kevin Nash Podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer spoke about Goldberg's recent comments on the Ariel Helwani Show, where he spoke about his criticisms of how the company handled his retirement match against Gunther. 'It's always these motherf—ers, man, that have never been in the ring, have never done anything in their life except comment on wrestling,' Nash began. 'They're saying, like, 'Well, Bill, you know, if I would have had that send-off, I would have been happy with just that.' How do you know? You never even had a f—ing match. How do you know, after f—ing all these years, that that send-off would appease you, dude? You're just f—ing happy jacking off talking about this sh–, like, shut the f— up. You're nobody. 'Bill didn't wake up one morning at 12 years old and go, 'I want to be a pro wrestler.' Bill tore his groin off the bone, playing for the Rams, and said, 'What am I going to do now? How about wrestling?' To me, I thought he did a really solid job. Kudos to Gunther, because Gunther kept him close. You could tell… they were working their way through things.'
