Bryant headed to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Maine
SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — The Bryant Bulldogs Men's Basketball team is moving on to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Maine in the American East Title game 77-59 in Smithfield on Saturday afternoon. Junior Barry Evans had a team high 19 points along with seven rebounds to lead the way for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Keyshawn Mitchell had a double-double in the game, scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Bulldogs will now have to wait until Sunday evening to see who they face first in the tournament. Selection Sunday will air tomorrow, March 16, at 6 p.m. on WPRI-12. Bryant could possible see home court advantage in that game, as some of the first and second round games (March 20 and 22) will be held at the Amp in Providence. Associated Press SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Keyshawn Mitchell had 21 points in Bryant's 91-78 victory over Albany on Tuesday in a semifinal matchup of the America East Conference Tournament. Top-seeded Bryant advances to the championship on Saturday to face No. 3-seed Maine who beat Vermont in the other semi on Tuesday. Mitchell had 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs (22-11). Earl Timberlake scored 21 points while finishing 10 of 13 from the floor and added four blocks. Barry Evans had 20 points and shot 7 for 15 and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line. The Great Danes (17-16) were led by Amar'e Marshall, who recorded 23 points and two steals. Albany also got 15 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and four blocks from Kacper Klaczek. Kheni Briggs also had 15 points and two steals. Bryant took the lead with 14:11 left in the first half and did not relinquish it. Evans led their team in scoring with 12 points in the first half to help put them up 39-33 at the break. Bryant beats New Hampshire 90-56 to become America East regular-season champions

(AP) — Rafael Pinzon scored 17 points, Keyshawn Mitchell had 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Bryant defeated New Hampshire 90-56 on Tuesday night to become America East regular-season champions. Bryant (20-11, 14-2) had already clinched a share of the regular-season title. The Bulldogs will host a quarterfinal game on Saturday. Pinzon also contributed five rebounds for the Bulldogs.
