Bahrain Surf Park - Club Hawaii Experience has awarded the construction contract for its highly anticipated surfing destination at Bilaj Al Jazayer to Poullaides Construction Company (PCC), marking a major step towards the park's grand opening in 2026.
Developed by Edamah, in partnership with GFH Financial Group, the project is set to transform Bahrain's leisure and adventure tourism sector, creating jobs and attracting international visitors to the southwest coast.
'We are proud to support a project that reflects Bahrain's commitment to innovation and economic growth,' said Khaled Abdulrahman Al Majed, CEO of Edamah. 'This park will strengthen Bahrain's position as a regional leader in entertainment and tourism.'
The surf park will be the first in the region to feature the cutting-edge Wavegarden Cove technology, capable of producing up to 1,000 waves per hour for surfers of all skill levels.
The facility will also include a surf academy, retail outlets, event spaces, and exclusive areas for corporate events, positioning it as a multifaceted destination for recreation and business.
In addition, a major international surfing competition is already planned for 2026, further cementing Bahrain's place on the global surfing map.
Victoria Williams, General Manager of Bahrain Surf Park, hailed the construction milestone, stating, 'We are thrilled to move forward with a project that will bring a world-class surfing experience to Bahrain and open new doors for tourism and recreation.'
With a vision rooted in public-private partnership, Bahrain Surf Park - Club Hawaii Experience is expected to draw around 300,000 visitors annually, helping drive forward the Kingdom's broader economic diversification goals.
