NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers might bag 6-foot-7 ex-Milwaukee Bucks All-Star to form Big 3 with Luka and LeBron

(AP Photo/LM Otero) The NBA trade market never sleeps, and Khris Middleton's name is once again in the circuit. After being dealt from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Washington Wizards in a surprising deadline move, the three-time All-Star could be on the move again—this time, with the Los Angeles Lakers lurking as a possible suitor. Middleton, a key piece in the Bucks' 2021 championship run, has seen his production decline in recent years due to injuries. But for a Lakers squad in win-now mode, his playoff-tested scoring and veteran savvy could be exactly what they need to bolster their title hopes. A proposed sign-and-trade scenario has already surfaced, linking Middleton to L.A. in exchange for a package centered around Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent. Would this deal make sense for both sides? And could Middleton rediscover his form alongside LeBron James in Hollywood? Let's break it down. Proposed Trade Package for Khris Middleton In a recent trade proposal by Fade Away World , the Los Angeles Lakers would acquire Khris Middleton in a sign-and-trade deal, sending Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, and the 2025 No. 55 overall pick to the Wizards. Here's a breakdown of the proposed trade: Lakers Receive Wizards Receive Khris Middleton Rui Hachimura - Gabe Vincent - 2025 No. 55 pick Why Khris Middleton Makes Sense for the Los Angeles Lakers Khris Middleton (Image via Getty) Middleton's skill set could fill key gaps in the Los Angeles Lakers ' roster. As Fade Away World noted: 'His experience and composure could provide the Lakers with a reliable scoring option and leadership presence, especially in high-pressure playoff situations. Middleton's ability to create his own shot and facilitate offense would complement LeBron James and Luka Doncic, and he could be a perfect third option at times.' (Ht: Sporting News) Additional benefits of adding Middleton include: - Playoff Pedigree: Championship experience from the Bucks' 2021 title run. - Versatile Scoring: Mid-range and perimeter shooting to space the floor. - Veteran Leadership: A steady presence for younger players. Potential Role in Los Angeles At this stage of his career, Khris Middleton may not be a full-time starter, but he could thrive in a sixth-man role. Key possibilities for his fit with the Los Angeles Lakers: - Providing 10-15 points per game off the bench. - Stepping into a larger role if injuries demand it. - Serving as a secondary playmaker alongside LeBron James. Giannis Antetokounmpo And The Bucks Will Discuss Their Future In A Critical Offseason Meeting
Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks has been a big talking point in recent weeks after their third straight first-round exit in the postseason. Antetokounmpo is said to be open-minded about leaving the Bucks, and NBA insider Chris Haynes reports he is expected to meet with the team next week. "I was told the Bucks made contact with Giannis Antetokounmpo as early as this morning," Haynes said on Haynes Briefs. "And sources relayed to me that a meeting is expected to be scheduled for mid-next week. This is where Giannis is going to have the chance to speak with Bucks brass and talk about the direction of the team. Advertisement "And there's a lot going on with the Bucks this offseason," Haynes continued. "Knowing Giannis personally, one of the toughest competitors we have in this league. A guy who has great ambition. He wants multiple championships, that's all he wants to do is be put in a position where he can play alongside a team that has a chance to fight for a title. This is gonna be a very, very crucial meeting next week." Antetokounmpo and the Bucks won the NBA championship in 2021, but it's been all downhill since. They looked like a good bet to repeat, but Khris Middleton got injured in the playoffs, and they lost to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2022. An injury to Antetokounmpo would then contribute to the Bucks being eliminated in the first round in 2023. They then proceeded to go all in by trading for Damian Lillard in the following offseason, and it seemed like a great move on paper. The Antetokounmpo-Lillard partnership never quite flourished, though, and it didn't help matters that the injury bug didn't stay away either. One or both of them would miss time in the 2024 and 2025 playoffs, and that led to two more first-round exits. Advertisement Lillard tore his Achilles in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Indiana Pacers this year, and the future is looking very bleak in Milwaukee. The chances of the team winning another title anytime soon seem slim. So, if Antetokounmpo wants to win another championship or two, leaving the Bucks this offseason might be in his best interests. The 30-year-old will have plenty of suitors if he does ask out and the Bucks grant his wish. Antetokounmpo is one of the very best players in the NBA and just averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game in the 2024-25 season. Players like the nine-time All-Star don't tend to be available for trade all too often. NBA insider Brian Windhorst has the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets as the frontrunners to acquire Antetokounmpo. Neither of those teams might be on the top of his list of preferred landing spots, though. Advertisement Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson revealed Antetokounmpo's preferences for his new team. He would prefer to stay in the Eastern Conference, have some control over roster and coaching decisions, and be in a market where other stars would want to join him. We listed out four realistic destinations for Antetokounmpo based on that and the packages each team could offer. One of them might no longer be a viable landing spot, though, as Antetokounmpo reportedly has reservations about going to the Miami Heat because of team president Pat Riley. Antetokounmpo is set to be the biggest talking point this offseason, and you wonder what jersey he'll be wearing at the start of the 2025-26 season. Damian Lillard Shares Exciting Giannis Antetokounmpo Post
Giannis Antetokounmpo's future with the Milwaukee Bucks seems to be in serious doubt. For the third year in a row, they were eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs, and their prospects look weak for the foreseeable future. Nine-time All-Star guard Damian Lillard, who was supposed to be the missing piece for Milwaukee when he arrived in a big trade prior to last season, tore his Achilles during the playoffs. Furthermore, the rest of the team's roster is aging, and it lacks the trade assets it needs to reload. Advertisement Antetokounmpo is at the peak of his individual powers, and a recent social media post revealed that he has scored more points than any other NBA player over the last 10 seasons. Lillard shared that post on his Instagram account. Damian Lillard/Instagram In two seasons with the Bucks, Lillard averaged 24.6 points and 7.0 assists a game. But he missed the last few weeks of this year's regular season after being diagnosed with a blood clot before tearing his Achilles. They had traded the aging Khris Middleton at midseason for Kyle Kuzma in an attempt to get younger and more athletic. But it simply wasn't anywhere close to enough. Advertisement Antetokounmpo, the two-time league MVP, averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 blocks a game during the regular season. He won an NBA championship in 2021, and at age 30, time is running out for him to be put in a situation where he can win at least one more ring. But it remains to be seen if the superstar actually becomes available on the market this summer. Related: Dwyane Wade's Massive New Tattoo Draws Attention

Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks to reportedly meet about future next week amid trade speculation
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will meet in the coming week to discuss the future of the team and which direction the front plans to take following a first-round playoff loss to the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks contacted Antetokounmpo on Saturday to set up the meeting, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes. The conversation will be "very, very crucial," in Haynes' words, as the team will apparently explain to its star player whether the ambition is to pursue another NBA championship in the near future. Advertisement Beginning a rebuilding process seems more likely with Damian Lillard likely to miss all of next season after sustaining a torn left Achilles tendon during the Bucks' playoff defeat. Adding new — and younger — talent to the roster won't easy since Milwaukee doesn't have a first-round pick under its control until 2031. Center Brook Lopez is 37 and Bobby Portis is 30. Khris Middleton (33) was traded for the slightly younger Kyle Kuzma, but the eight-year veteran will turn 30 before next season. Kuzma also didn't make much of an impact upon joining the Bucks, highlighted by posting a box score with zero counting stats in Game 1 of Milwaukee's matchup with Indiana. That leaves the Bucks with little choice but to trade their most valuable asset to kickstart a rebuild. Antetokounmpo will turn 31 next season and would rather play for another NBA title rather than spend the remaining years of his career trying to help Milwaukee regain contender status in the Eastern Conference. Advertisement Antetokounmpo is reportedly open to the idea of being traded and possibly ending his NBA career with another team. He would attract major interest on the trade market and NBA observers have linked him to several playoff and championship contenders including the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors. The two-time NBA MVP is under contract for three more years, including a player option for 2027-28, which would mean any team trading for Antetokounmpo would get him for a long-term pursuit of a championship. Adding to trade speculation will be Antetokounmpo's response to a question about his favorite NBA cities during an informal Saturday night Q&A he held with fans on X. Asked which cities make him happiest, he replied "Florida cities." He also said that New York was his favorite place to play on the road. A trade to the Knicks seems highly unlikely considering that the team already made several deals, getting them Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby during the past two seasons. New York may win an NBA title without Antetokounmpo, as it's set to begin the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday versus the Pacers. Advertisement The Miami Heat have little to offer in a deal and if they were to trade stars like Tyler Herro or Bam Adebayo, the team wouldn't be in position to win a championship with Antetokounmpo. That applies to the Brooklyn Nets as well, though they have draft picks to offer. The Orlando Magic have a young core built around Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, but Milwaukee would almost certainly want one of those players in return, which probably makes any trade talks a non-starter. However, what seems increasingly clear is that something will happen with Antetokounmpo and the Bucks could begin that process as early as after next week's meeting.

Khris Middleton on Wizards: I think this team could definitely be a playoff team
If you're here next season in Washington, what do you foresee with this young core? Khris Middleton: I think this team could definitely be a playoff team. I think we had a stretch recently where we were competing against some of the playoff teams in some games, where we won some games and lost some others. I think if you give us a full offseason and give us a full season together, with the improvement of the young core, which is going to be huge, I think they can take a big step because of the way they work, how talented they are, and how smart they are.
