No bad blood between Ranveer Singh and Aditya Chopra, says Shanoo Sharma: ‘Must be a reason why YRF was okay with him leaving'

Years before Ahaan Panday made his debut with Saiyaara, it was the era of Ranveer Singh who impressed everyone with his debut in the 2010 film Band Baaja Baarat, produced by Yash Raj Films. In the years since then, Ranveer did many films with the production house. However, he parted ways with their talent agency in 2022 after the failure of Jayeshbhai Jordaar. In a new interview, YRF casting director Shanoo Sharma spoke about Ranveer's exit from the production house and said that there must be a reason behind why the actor chose to leave and why the production house was comfortable letting him go. Shanoo did not give out many details about Ranveer's exit but mentioned that there was 'no bad blood' between Ranveer and YRF as such. In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter India, Shanoo was asked if Ranveer's departure from the company hurt her, and she said, 'I don't think it hurt. It didn't hurt, not at all.' She then continued, 'He is going ahead with his life. I wish him all the best. There's a reason why he must be going. There's a reason why the production house is okay with him going.' She then added, 'I feel things work, and then they fade, and then they start to work again so it's just that. I don't think there is any bad blood as such but he needed to move and for me, he is my best friend as well so there's nothing difficult on that front.' Aditya Chopra picked him as a newcomer. He has since become one of the biggest superstars of our country.' They added that the two share a 'solid' relationship and will continue to collaborate in future. However, snce then, Ranveer has not signed any new film with them. Ranveer made his debut with YRF and later worked with them in films like Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, Gunday, Kill Dil, Befikre and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Since leaving YRF, he has appeared in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. He is set to appear in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar in December. He was also announced as the lead star of Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 but the filming of the project is yet to begin.

Nil Battey Sannata to Bareilly Ki Barfi: Films that prove Nitesh Tiwari's cinema is about hope, trials and tribulations

Nitesh Tiwari has taken on his biggest challenge yet. The filmmaker, who has a type of cinema to his credit, has taken on the task of presenting his version of Ramayana to the world. The filmmaker, for most bits, has an eye for content that could be moulded into a precious gem and thus, hopes are high with Ramayana, too. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, the movie is almost ready for release. However, before Ramayana rules over the big screens, here's tracing back content that Tiwari has presented to us. Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi From Nil Battey Sannata to Bareilly Ki Barfi, stream the best of Nitesh Tiwari's cinema on OTTplay Premium Nil Battey Sannata is the story of a mother (played by Swara Bhasker) who single-handedly takes on the task of raising her daughter. To make matters worse, the daughter is a teen who is influenced by how society sees her mother, which affects her academic studies. Thus, the mother makes a decision which is about to change the trajectory of their lives. Bareilly Ki Barfi Another movie about a strong, independent woman bankrolled by Nitesh Tiwari is Bareilly Ki Barfi. Kriti Sanon plays the role of Bitti, a woman who breaks all societal norms and hopes they catch up with her. A true modern, independent woman, Bitti is out to seek a man who understands her. That is when she comes across a mysterious man named Chirag whose thoughts match hers. Bitti is now on a journey to find her Chirag, but the process to interact with him is not as easy as it appears. Bareilly Ki Barfi explores the lengths to which Bitti would go to be with the man she believes is her soulmate. Tarla Women might not always belong in the kitchen, but some of those who do can make history and Huma Qureshi's Tarla, inspired from the real-life story of Chef Tarla Dalal, is proof of that. Tarla explores how a middle-class woman can use her skills and make a living out of it, which falls under the kind of cinema Nitesh Tiwari and his wife Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari support. Kill Dil Ranveer Singh-Parineeti Chopra's Kill Dil is the story of men who are happy in their bubble. Picking up the gun to get what they want is how gangsters Dev, Tutu and Bhaiyaji (played by Ali Zafar, Ranveer Singh and Govinda) survive. That is till Disha (Parineeti Chopra) enters their lives and shakes things up. Now, it is a battle between what was believed to be brotherhood and the heart. Nitesh Tiwari penned the storyline for the movie. Chhichhore A classic, Sushant Singh Rajput-Shraddha Kapoor's Chhichhore tells the tale of campus friends and how their lives change after. From sensitive topics to what usually happens in a boy's group chat, this film explores it all and with sincerity. It is among Nitesh Tiwari's finest works as a director. The film is available on JioHotstar.

Sometimes when a movie is released, and if it is helmed by a known director, has a massive budget, and features a star-studded cast, it is expected to be a superhit. However, the ingredients that are said to be the right formula for success don't always work. Similarly, when director Shaad Ali decided to make Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, fans thought the same. However, things turned out to be completely different. After the successful run of Saathiya and Bunty Aur Babli, director Shaad Ali decided to make another film, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films and was one of the most anticipated films. Interestingly, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom had a talented star cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol, and Lara Dutta, with Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance. The soundtrack was among the top-selling albums of 2007, yet Jhoom Barabar Jhoom underperformed at the box office and turned out to be one of the year's biggest disappointments. Jhoom Barabar Jhoom Budget and Box Office Collection According to media reports, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was made for Rs 25 crore. However, the storyline fell short for the audience, and it only earned Rs 27 crore net in India and Rs 38 crore worldwide. After Jhoom Barabar Jhoom flopped, Shaad Ali took a seven-year hiatus from filmmaking and made his directorial comeback with Kill Dil. Starring Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar, Parineeti Chopra, and Govinda, the film also failed to impress at the box office. Despite having music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy with lyrics written by Gulzar, the film could not resonate with the audience. Some of the hit tracks from the film are Bol Na Halke Halke, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, and more.

In a recent interview, Sunita said that Govinda is a legendary actor and should not be wasting his time at home.'I always tell Govinda that you are a legend star, aap 90s ke raaja the (you were the 90s king). Today's generation of kids dance on your songs. I keep asking him to have better company. Why is a legend like you sitting at home? Actors of your age are doing so much work, including Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff. Why don't you work? We miss seeing Govinda in films," she told shared that even their children want to see Govinda act again. She blamed the people around him for not giving him the right advice. '90s is gone, it's 2025. 90s ke style ki movie koi nahi dekh raha (no one is watching 90s-style movies). Uski zindagi barbaad kyu kar rahe ho do kaudi ke paison ke liye?
