Diddy trial live: Combs's second alleged victim Mia gives evidence - after stylist recalls 'attack'

15:37:21 Alleged victim 'Mia' called to witness stand The prosecution is now calling alleged victim "Mia" to the witness stand. Judge Arub Subramanian tells jurors she is using a pseudonym to protect her privacy. This does not give her testimony any greater or lesser weight, he tells them, adding that no one should document details of her in notes or sketches. 15:34:36 Stylist reached out to Diddy after death of Kim Porter, court hears Defence lawyer Xavier Donaldson is now asking stylist Deonte Nash about the late Kim Porter, who was also a long-term partner of Sean Combs. They were together from about 1994 to 2007, which is when he started seeing Cassie. Combs and Porter had three children together, and he also raised and adopted her oldest son, Quincy – who has been in court for parts of the trial, along with some of the rapper's other children. Porter died of pneumonia in 2018. Nash is asked if he was aware how close Combs and Porter were. "Absolutely," he responds. When she died, Nash confirms he reached out to Combs to say he was there for him and called to make sure he was okay. Donaldson finishes with his cross-examination after some frustration from Judge Arun Subramanian over his slow pace. 15:23:03 'I was exhausted,' Cassie's stylist friend says, when asked about reaction to 'freak off' plans Deonte Nash, a celebrity stylist and friend of Cassie's, is now being asked about New Year's Eve in 2016. He was with Sean "Diddy" Combs and Cassie in Las Vegas, the court hears, and at one point he and Cassie returned to their hotel and went back to her room. "Just enjoying yourself," defence attorney Xavier Donaldson asks. "Correct," Nash replies. He confirms Cassie then told him to leave the room as a man was coming over. Donaldson: "Your reaction was a sigh?" Nash: "Yes" Donaldson: "You didn't say, 'What are you doing, girl?'" Nash: "No, I was exhausted." He adds he did not see Cassie immediately after this as she and Combs then travelled to Mexico. 15:10:25 Cassie kept 'freak offs' from stylist friend for several years, court hears The defence's cross-examination of stylist Deonte Nash now goes back to the alleged violent incident mentioned earlier (14.38 post), in which Cassie cut her head. Nash apparently saw alleged victim "Mia" video calling Cassie on Facetime and saw she had a black eye, attorney Xavier Donaldson says. "Yes," the stylist replies. Asked if he saw a picture or a video, he says no, but he "saw it in person, when her make-up wears off you can see it". Cassie had a press event about a week later, he adds. Donaldson then returns to Nash's testimony about a time in 2013 when Ventura told him that sex videos Combs was allegedly threatening to release publicly showed her with other men. Cassie has accused Combs of forcing and coercing her into "freak offs", sexual encounters with male escorts, and claims he filmed them and made threats about the footage. Yesterday, the court heard that prior to 2013, Nash had told Cassie not to worry, as he thought Combs was also in the footage and therefore wouldn't jeopardise his own reputation. Nash, who has been friends with Cassie since 2008, confirms this was the first time he learnt she was having sex with other men. "That part of her life she kept from you?" Donaldson asks. "Yes," Nash replies. 14:54:14 Stylist tells court he set Cassie up with actor Michael B Jordan Stylist Deonte Nash now confirms he has been friends with Cassie for 15 years and speaks to her every day. He tells the court that he knows of Kid Cudi – the rapper Cassie had a brief relationship with in 2011 – but he did not know the romance overlapped with Cassie's on-off relationship with Sean Combs. He says Cassie did not tell him that she and Combs had broken up, but "people on the team said it". Questioning by defence lawyer Xavier Donaldson now turns to 2015, when Cassie spent time in South Africa to shoot a film. "Mia", another alleged victim who will testify later today, was also there. Another stylist saw Diddy with another woman in Miami at around this time, the court hears. Nash tells jurors that when Cassie heard, she said something like: "Why is he out humiliating me, trying to ruin my career?" Donaldson then asks about the actor Michael B Jordan, star of Black Panther and the Creed films, whose name has come up previously during the trial. "Yes, I did hook her up with Michael B Jordan," Nash says. "I know where we're going with this. He's fine, she's fine. I mean, why not?" Nash, who has been reminded by Judge Arun Subramanian to stick to answering the questions put to him, says Cassie was not with Diddy at this point. Donaldson also asks about another of Cassie's relationships, which Nash says at first that he doesn't know anything about. Then he adds: "Oh, the cute football player? Yes." This was close to 2017, he says. 14:38:35 Stylist explains why he didn't give full details of alleged attack on Cassie by Diddy Attorney Xavier Donaldson is asking questions for the defence and starts by checking how stylist Deonte Nash is doing. "Blessed," he replies. The cross-examination turns to Capricorn Clark, a former employee of Sean "Diddy" Combs, who gave evidence on Tuesday. Clark alleged that in 2011, Diddy kidnapped her at gunpoint when he went to confront rival rapper Kid Cudi after learning he had been seeing his then on-off partner Cassie. Nash says he "learned a lot from" Clark while she was employed at Diddy's Bad Boy Records and that they worked together in 2016 for Cassie's song Love A Loser, which was released in 2017. Asked about Cassie's styling around that time, Nash says it was "curated" and that they needed approval from Diddy, which they got. Donaldson then asks about an incident in which Cassie "suffered a gash on her head", which came up during Nash's evidence yesterday. The stylist said he was at Cassie's apartment, helping her pack for a music festival, when Diddy stormed in, grabbed her by the hair, pulled her off a couch and hit her repeatedly. Mr Nash said he and alleged victim Mia – set to give evidence later – jumped on the rapper's back in an attempt to get him to stop. Donaldson asks Nash to confirm he saw Cassie hit her head on a bed frame and he confirms he did. Asked if Diddy "kept kicking her", he replies: "Yes." The defence lawyer says Nash met with the government many times when questioned about this case, but never mentioned the kicking. "They didn't ask," Nash replies. He says he gave as little information as possible and only answered what he was asked. Remember, he has been subpoenaed – legally ordered – to give evidence in court. 14:22:34 Stylist Deonte Nash returns to the stand After further legal discussions, stylist Deonte Nash is now returning to the stand to give evidence. Today he is wearing a white shirt, a jacket and a large pair of jeans. Sean "Diddy" Combs is wearing a cream sweater over a white shirt. The plan was for Nash's evidence to finish yesterday but cross-examination took longer than anticipated. Nash has been subpoenaed to give evidence – meaning he is there following a legal order – and he made it clear yesterday it was not his choice to be in court. Jurors now hear he has a flight at 2pm New York time – 7pm here in the UK – and prosecutor Maurene Comey says she hopes he can make it. 13:55:21 Motion to strike expert witness testimony denied by judge Before the trial resumes hearing evidence, there are a few legal matters to tend to. A motion was made by the defence to strike testimony given by psychologist Dawn Hughes last week – which Judge Arun Subramanian has now denied. She told the court victims of abuse often experience a "low sense of self" and tend to stay with abusers because they yearn for the love and compassion experienced in a relationship's early "honeymoon phase". Hughes, who appeared as an expert witness – meaning she has specialised knowledge in her particular field but is not involved directly in the case – also explained how a victim's memory can sometimes become jumbled; retaining awareness of abuse, but mixing up details. She did not examine Cassie or Combs, the court heard. The defence's argument that her testimony was "pseudoscience" was rejected by the judge. 13:42:40 Court in session Today's hearing is now under way. Deonte Nash, a former stylist for Sean Combs and his former partner Cassie, will be back on the stand soon after beginning his testimony yesterday. We'll bring you all the latest from his evidence. 13:38:45 Alleged victim Mia 'wanted to take secret of what Combs did to the grave' Today's hearing should be getting started shortly. As we reported earlier, the trial is later set to hear from another alleged victim of Sean "Diddy" Combs. While fellow alleged victim Cassie waived her right to anonymity, this woman is not being named in court and so the pseudonym "Mia" is being used instead. We know a little about her already from the opening statement given by the prosecution at the start of the trial. Mia was "worked to the bone for years" as an assistant of Combs, the prosecution said. She alleges that Combs forced himself on her sexually and forced her to perform a sex act. She also alleges he snuck into her bed to have sex with her against her will. Combs, together with "trusted bodyguards and advisors... agreed to commit different crimes, including kidnapping and arson, distributing drugs to other people, exploiting employees for labour - and in Mia's case, sex, bribery and obstruction, sex trafficking, and transporting people for prostitution," the prosecution's opening statement said. "Mia will tell you how she could not talk about what happened to her until recently, how she wanted to take the secret of what the defendant did to her to her grave." As always, there are no cameras in court but we should have some artist sketches of the proceedings later today. However, Judge Arun Subramanian has said there will be no sketches of Mia to preserve her anonymity.

Diddy's Twins Reportedly Attend Prom After Appearing in Court for the 1st Week of His Trial

Sean "Diddy" Combs' daughters Jessie and D'Lila Combs had a night out at their high school prom amid his ongoing sex trafficking trial. The 18-year-old twins reportedly attended the Los Angeles event on Saturday, May 17, which was held at the Harbour House, according to photos obtained by Backgrid. The duo coordinated looks in red off-the-shoulder floor-length dresses with matching corsages. While being carried into the event by their dates, Jessie and D'Lila were asked why they had arrived late. "The party doesn't start until we walk in. Saved the best for last,' they replied, per People. Combs shared Jessie and D'Lila with Kim Porter, who died in November 2018 at 47 years of age. Combs and Porter also welcomed son Christian, 27, and the rap mogul adopted Porter's son Quincy Brown, now 33, whom she previously welcomed with Al B. Sure. Combs is also the dad of son Justin Combs, 31, whom he welcomed with Misa Hylton and 18-year-old daughter Chance Combs, whom he shares with Sarah Chapman in 2006. Combs welcomed his youngest daughter, Love, with Dana Train in 2022. The twins' prom comes days after the 55-year-old's trial began on May 5. Jessie and D'Lila made an appearance alongside Christian, Justin and Quincy and Diddy's mom, Janice Combs, on Monday, May 12. The twins reportedly left the courtroom twice on Monday as sex worker Daniel Phillip testified about alleged interactions with Diddy and Cassie, who dated on and off from 2007 to 2018. Diddy's Twins Jessie and D'Lila Combs Reflect on 'Extremely Difficult' Years Since Losing Mom Kim Porter In September 2024, Diddy was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all of the allegations against him. 'We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney's Office,' Diddy's attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement at the time. 'He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.' His arrest came nearly one year after Cassie filed a lawsuit against him accusing him of sexual and physical abuse throughout their relationship. He denied her claims in a statement shared by his attorney. 'Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,' Diddy's lawyer Ben Brafman said at the time. Diddy's Kids Hold Hands Entering Courthouse as Trial Opening Statements Begin Diddy and Cassie settled out of court one day after the lawsuit was filed. In May 2024, CNN published a hotel surveillance video of Diddy kicking and grabbing Cassie in 2016. He later apologized for his actions in a video shared via Instagram. Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest. His four requests for bail were denied by Judge Arun Subramanian. Diddy's twin daughters Jessie and D'Lila address 'extremely difficult' two years amid the rapper's arrest as they pay tribute to their late mother

Sean ' Diddy ' Combs' twins Jessie and D'Lila have admitted the past couple of years have been 'extremely difficult' since he was arrested for a string of depraved crimes. The rapper, 55, is on trial after pleading not guilty to allegations of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; racketeering conspiracy; and transportation to engage in prostitution. His family have been steadfast in their support Combs, led by his mother Janice, D'Lila and Jessie and his three sons have been watching his trial unfold from the courtroom. On Tuesday, his ex-girlfriend Cassie testified about her experience with the three-time Grammy-winner while she was his partner from 2007 to 2018. Before the trial began in New York this week, his daughters, both 18, revealed they had endured an arduous time following their father's fall from grace. Sharing a tribute to their late mom Kim Porter on Mother's Day - which took place on Sunday May 11 - they shared how had life has been without her since her death in November 2018. On Mother's Day - which was on Sunday May 11 - they posted a tribute to their late mom Kim Porter, who died in November 2018, sharing that they had been having a difficult time without her It read: 'Dear mommy, You were the best mommy anyone could've ever had and we are so blessed that god chose you to be our mommy. 'We miss you so very much every single day and we wish you could be here with us today. 'These last couple years have been sooooo extremely difficult without you by our side. We really wish you were here for these years that we begin to grow and start to mature into young ladies. 'We are going to follow in your footsteps and always make you proud. I hope you are up there celebrating this beautiful day with your mommy and grandma we miss you all so much! Happy Mothers Day to our Queen.' Alongside the message, they shared a fresh-faced throwback picture of their mother wearing pyjamas while heavily pregnant with them. During the trial on Monday, one of the girls made a heart gesture with her hands, which he then repeated back to her, and his spirits appeared to lift when his son, King, pumped up his fist. A court sketch artist also caught the moment Combs offered a thumbs up to his family behind him. During opening statements, prosecutors outlined horrific claims against Combs, saying he once forced a male escort to urinate in Cassie's mouth. As the prosecution and their first witness laid out revolting allegations, both of Combs' daughters took turns leaving the courtroom. During his latest day in court, Cassie told how she took part in his days-long sex parties because she feared he would blackmail her if she refused, jurors heard yesterday. Cassie, 38, faced the hip-hop mogul in court as she revealed intimate details of their relationship on the second day of his trial. She said Combs forced her to participate in the parties, known as 'Freak Offs', where she would have sex with male escorts while he watched. They became her 'job' and she carried on taking part because she feared Combs would release videos he had filmed of the parties, the court heard. The R&B singer said Combs, who signed her to his Bad Boy Records label, controlled every aspect of her life during their decade-long relationship and kept her in check through violence, and left guns lying around to 'scare' her. She described how he would 'stomp me in the head if I was down' and beat her so badly that the whites of her eyes would turn red. Prosecutors claim that Combs, who won three Grammys during a music career spanning four decades, ran a 'criminal enterprise' built around coercing women into sex and threatening them if they went public. His lawyers claim that all the sex acts were consensual and that his appetites were 'kinky' but did not amount to sex trafficking. Cassie gave evidence to the trial in New York despite being eight-and-a-half months pregnant with her third child. Her husband Alex Fine, 32, is a personal trainer who was hired by Combs to work with her. Combs's lawyers sought to have Cassie seated in the witness box before the jury came in on the grounds that her being so heavily pregnant might influence them. But the judge disagreed and she was allowed to walk into court wearing a brown, tight-fitting bodysuit which showed off her baby bump. Her testimony came a day after prosecutors showed jurors a video of him beating her in a hotel in 2016. Cassie detailed the arguments she had with Combs, who she began dating in 2006 when she was 19 and he was 17 years older. She said: 'He would bash me on my head, knock me over, drag me, kick me, stomp me in the head if I was down.' Prosecutor Emily Anne Johnson asked how frequently this happened. 'Too frequently,' she replied. Cassie said she remembered 'my stomach falling to my butt' when Combs suggested the idea of 'Freak Offs'. She told the court: 'Within the first year of our relationship Sean proposed to me this idea this sexual encounter that he called voyeurism where he'd watch me in sexual activity with a third party, specifically another man.' She added: 'Pretty quickly I knew that it wasn't something I wanted to be doing. Especially as regularly as it became but I was in love and wanted to make him happy. It got to a point I didn't feel I had much of a choice.' Cassie said she did not want to make Combs 'angry' because he 'controlled a lot of my life' and she feared he would put the explicit videos of her online. She told jurors: 'Over time it turned into the fact there were blackmail materials to make me feel if I didn't do it, it would be hung over my head or these things would become public.' Cassie said that before she met Combs, she thought he was a 'larger-than-life' figure in the music industry, while she was 'completely sexually inexperienced'. She repeatedly called herself 'naive' and said: 'I was insanely jealous but also super young, didn't get it at all, I didn't get that he was him. 'As he would say, I'm Puff Daddy and Puff Daddy has many women, he likes the company of women. I had to learn that over time. He made me feel like we were in a monogamous relationship.' Cassie wept as she spoke about her first 'Freak Off' party and how she did not want to engage in any of them. 'I just felt it was all I was good for,' she said. 'I felt pretty horrible about myself. I felt disgusted. I was humiliated, I didn't have those words to put together at the time, how horrible I felt. I couldn't talk to anybody about it so.' Cassie said the only part of the 'Freak Offs' she enjoyed was the 'time' she spent with Combs during them. She told the court: 'Plainly the Freak Offs became a job where there was no space to do anything else but to recover and try to feel normal again. Staying up for days on end, taking drugs and other substances, drinking. Having sex with a stranger for days.' Asked how long the 'Freak Offs' lasted, Cassie replied: 'They ranged anywhere from 36, 48 to 72 hours. The longest one ever was four days. Maybe even more on and off with breaks.' She said about 10 large bottles of baby oil were used at each party. Cassie also claimed that Combs would leave guns lying around his homes to scare her. 'The guns came out here and there – I always felt it was a little bit of a scare tactic,' she said. Earlier, Judge Arun Subramanian indicated he could make the 'Freak Off' videos and photos public despite pleas from Cassie keep them sealed. Combs, who has worked with Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Lopez, who he also dated for a time, denies racketeering conspiracy, two charges of sex trafficking and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution. He faces life in jail if convicted. The trial continues.

Diddy's son Christian Combs remembers late mom Kim Porter hours before rapper's sex trafficking trial

Diddy 's son Christian Combs paid poignant tribute to his late mother Kim Porter on Mother's Day Sunday - just hours before his father's sex trafficking trial began. Christian, known as King, 27, is the eldest child of the rapper, 55, and Porter, who died aged 47 in 2018 from lobar pneumonia. He took to Instagram to remember his mom as his father faces being locked up for life, writing: 'Happy mother's Day Mommy !!!! I love you so much words can't express how much I wish I could call you right now!! 'Whenever I'm down i know that it's you picking me up right when I need it !! I Love you, wish I could hug you, kiss you and just talk to you !! 'I love you so much and I know that you are with me still watching over every step I take and every choice I make I love you mommy!!!! Happy Mother's Day!' The post was accompanied by photos of him as a child with his doting mom. Christian, known as King, 27, is the eldest child of the rapper, 55, and Porter, who died aged 47 in 2018 from lobar pneumonia. Diddy and Porter were in an on-off relationship from 1994-2007. They also share twin daughters Jessie and D'Lila, 18. Porter spoke rarely about her relationship with Combs, who she found out was expecting a child with a woman named Sarah Chapman at the same time she was having twins. She claimed to still be friends with the music mogul after they broke up. Porter had been photographed with Combs and their kids in the months before her death. The two even spent Mother's Day together in 2018 and had remained functioning co-parents to their three children. 'We're committed to our children even if we couldn't commit to each other,' Porter once said. Porter did not give much insight into why her relationship with Combs ultimately faltered, though Combs did tell Essence in 2006 that he wasn't ready to marry her. 'In ending this relationship, I made a decision that was in the best interest of myself, Sean and our family. I look forward to moving on with my life and my career and wish him prosperity, health and happiness in life and in love. We will remain friends and committed parents to our children,' Porter said in a statement after the pair broke up for the final time. Sean 'Diddy' Combs is on trial accused of abusing, threatening, and coercing women for years, including at 'freak off' orgy afterparties to his famed celebrity-filled events. Porter (second from left) poses with her kids and Combs on October 30, 2018, about two weeks before her death He faces life in prison on five federal charges: racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution. Combs has plead not guilty to all the charges. His defense team has said the alleged victims are ex-girlfriends who willingly participated in threesomes. Prosecutors have said 'Victim 1', Cassie Ventura, plans to testify using her own name.
