Kim Soo-hyun resurfaces with new legal action: YouTuber faces jail time and Dh51k for stalking and false claims

Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Goldmedalist, has issued a formal statement regarding legal action against Kim Se Eui, the operator of the YouTube channel HoverLab Inc., for violating the Stalking Punishment Act. According to the official statement, GOLDMEDALIST and the actor have filed an additional complaint and accusation against Kim Se-eui today. This follows earlier legal action initiated on April 1, 2025, when the agency and Kim Soo-hyun first filed a complaint against Kim Se Eui for repeatedly spreading false and defamatory information about the actor. These actions were deemed to constitute stalking under South Korean law. The authorities quickly took action, and by April 22, 2025, they had determined that Kim Se Eui's behaviour qualified as stalking. As a result, they requested a "provisional measure" to stop the individual's actions. The Seoul Central District Court granted the request the following day, April 23, 2025, issuing a court order for Kim Se Eui to cease the harmful behavior. Despite being officially notified of the court's decision on April 24, which clearly prohibited any further actions that were deemed to be stalking, Kim Se Eui has allegedly continued to spread false information about Kim Soo-hyun through his YouTube platform. Kim Se Eui's actions, in direct violation of the court order, now subject him to criminal punishment under Article 20, Paragraph 2 of the Stalking Punishment Act. The law states that offenders can face a sentence of up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won (approximately $14,000). In response to this ongoing issue, GOLDMEDALIST and Kim Soo Hyun have once again moved forward with additional legal action. In March, the actor came under fire for his relationship with Kim Sae-ron, with YouTubers alleging that she was a minor when they were dating. The actor also faced accusations of pressuring her with debt, all of which he denied in a tearful press conference.
