The Kindle Scribe Is 'A Perfect Union Of E-Reader And E-Notepad' — And $140 Off For Prime Day
It's likely you're already familiar with the Kindle, Amazon's featherweight reading device that's practically synonymous with the word 'e-reader.' But have you heard of its note-taking big brother, the Kindle Scribe? Well, if you haven't, and you're in the market for an e-reader tablet with a little more pizzazz than the tried-and-true OG, consider this: The Scribe has a literal horde of fans who swear it's Amazon's greatest invention, and right now, you can grab it bundled with other goodies for a whopping 35% off, which translates to a $140 discount!Seriously, don't miss this. Reviewers have sung its praises to the heavens, deeming it 'the absolute best Kindle Amazon has ever produced,' a 'perfect union of an e-reader and e-notepad,' 'a joy' to use, and 'utterly perfect.' This current sale knocks its $399.99 bundled value down to $259.99 — a wild, wild deal for Amazon Prime on-sale New Kindle Scribe combines a 16GB e-reader and e-notebook device with a 3-month subscription of Kindle Unlimited, built-in AI summarization capabilities, and a lightweight smart stylus for the ultimate productivity starter like the basic Kindle, the Kindle Scribe can load hundreds and hundreds of e-books into its internal storage, so you can take your library to go and reduce eye strain with its friendly, backlit e-ink display. It has a larger 10.2-inch screen than the Kindle Paperwhite (which measures 7 inches) for easier reading. (One reviewer calls the ability to change that text size 'a godsend' for aging eyes.) It's designed for reading, whether you're indoors or outside. And for those listeners out there: Yes, it also supports display aside, what the Scribe has that the Paperwhite doesn't is the ability to take notes using its smart stylus. Using the stylus as you would a pen to paper, you can scribble notes down to an e-ink document and refer to them later, or, if you're like me, you can doodle and draw away. You can also use the stylus to highlight, underline, and mark up documents, .pdf files, and even the very books you're reading!Coolest of all, it uses AI to summarize your pages of notes, so you can keep things tidy without having to flip through your thoughts and references to find what you can use the Scribe to take meeting notes at work or jot to-do and grocery lists. You can journal and store your recordings all in one place. You could even convert your handwritten notes to text and email them to yourself or your friends whenever you need!Several reviewers say writing with the stylus feels like using a real pencil and paper, plus with the stylus' eraser, you can immediately delete any mistakes you might've made, all without having to waste desk Kindle Scribe bundle is the lowest price it's been all year. Grab it for 35% off today and check out some promising reviews below to see why users are going bonkers over this awesome productivity tool and e-reader. Promising reviews: 'OH. MY. GOD. 🤩🥳 I have found the holy grail of e-reading. I upgraded by trading in my 10th-gen Paperwhite. When I received this bad boy (named $crim the Scribe lol), setup was a breeze bc I linked my Amazon account to the purchase. I've had it for a week now and it's life changing in the best way 😍 **yes I'm aware you can see my folders and titles of my notebooks, idc lol** […] I love writing on it, and I think my handwriting is so much prettier on it vs on actual paper 💀 […]The screen is HUGE and my blind self loves that 🤣 I didn't realize the pen is magnetic and sticks to the side, I was like a cavewoman discovering fire when I found that feature lmaooo. Response time is lightyears faster than my Paperwhite, and having 64GB of memory is a dream compared to the 8GB I had. The battery life is impressive. I have mine set to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity. […]✨I know the price is pricey (at least to me it is lmfao), but if you love reading, love to journal, or want to get into the habit of journaling, BUY A KINDLE SCRIBE!!!!!! This was a purchase I know was worth it as soon as I got to play around with it ✨' —Nicole (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review.)'I used to constantly remember to carry around both my bullet journal (Bujo) and my Paperwhite around. Now, I no longer need to worry about it... just keep up with one item. I get the best of both worlds in terms of the flexibility of digital and the power of analog writing in one package. Plus, I can play my audiobooks to boot! (not while I'm taking notes, of course). I'm still doing the bullet journal style of notetaking, but I'm having to adjust to a slightly different workflow. The beauty is that I feel like this is even more flexible than a regular bullet journal because now I can take certain notes that I want to keep from year to year without having to transfer between journals every year. I just keep them in a different category or folder, and I organize things better this way, which works for me. […]' —Jack_and_Angel (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review.)'I had a Paperwhite for seven years, and I started having issues with it. There were lines on the screen and little specs of stuff, and they would come off after rebooting, but the screen was really small, which is a 7-inch, so I decided to go for a scribe. On Amazon, you get the best deal I got with a trade-in $60 off, plus a $20 gift card, so it ended up being $225, which is a fantastic deal when I got it. I was kind of apprehensive at first, thinking it was gonna be too big before I got it. I was wrong. It is amazing that the print can be made bigger, especially for us who have aging eyes. It is a godsend. It can be turned left or right whichever way you want, and if you get a case, you can get one of those that have a strap in the bag so you can strap it to your hand. The visibility is so much better, I'm able to establish my collection so much easier and in so much cleaner. It is way more responsive than the paper white and I wish I would've but purchased one sooner. I highly recommend. Don't worry about the weight, it is just fine. It is not a big deal. I absolutely love it. Do not hesitate, run and get one now.' —Nicole robello'I received my Amazon Kindle Scribe 64GB two weeks ago, and I simply LOVE IT! I wasn't sure I would like writing on it before I practiced with it, but when I discovered the 'fountain pen' writing option, I was THRILLED. It is fun to take notes now, and although I am not as excited with the edit part of the interface before emailing it to myself as a PDF, it is early days. It is long past time to stop wasting paper and going digital — and as I enjoy the process of writing notes as a part of encoding and learning, it really is working for me.' —Xela'This is, by far, the best Kindle Amazon has ever produced in my experience. I had the Paperwhite before with the drawing capabilities. This one has far superior drawing. The underlining feature is amazing. The processor keeps up with the drawing, so you can just seamlessly underline multiple lines without the weird action of the previous versions. The note-taking is incredible. It puts the notes inline with the text of the book, and the feel of the note-taking is very much like taking notes on paper. The color of the display is so much more pleasing to look at than any previous version of Kindle I've ever purchased, and I have purchased several before this one. If you want an excellent product for reading, get this Kindle. I cannot recommend this product enough.' —monsterpixel Get it from Amazon for $259.99+ (originally $399.99; available in three sizes).

The 12 Best Prime Day Purchases Our Gear Team Made
We're on day three of Prime Day (should it be Prime Week at this point?), and after days of deal-tracking on our liveblog and various Prime Day stories, it's no surprise that we here at WIRED have been shopping the sales. We know a good one when we see one, after all. If it's a sale so good even our team can't resist it, you know you should probably check it out. Here's everything our team has shopped so far during Prime Day. Looking for more Prime Day deals? Don't miss our guide to the Absolute Best Prime Day Deals and our Prime Day liveblog, plus our various guides to deals on Kindles, beauty tools, Dysons, mattresses, and so much more. WIRED Featured Deals The Deals Our Team Is Shopping For the Readers My Kindle Scribe arrived last night, and I couldn't wait to set it up before bed. Honestly, it's taking all my willpower not to grab it from my nightstand right now and dive into a good book. But alas, I'm on the clock. I've been debating whether to get a Kindle for a couple of years, because I love my paperbacks, but I finally decided to go for it when fellow reviewer Nena Farrell sold me on it. Reading in bed, before bed, is difficult for me, because I like to highlight and annotate my books, but I can't doze off with all my stationery sprawled on top of me. It's super sleek and slim, and I adore the premium pen that comes with a soft-tipped eraser. It's a bit larger than I expected but in a good way. The front-lit display can really light up a dark room, but I'm leaning toward the warmer settings. I immediately noticed that it doesn't have color features, which was a bummer, but I think I'll get used to it. Some Amazon deals include a fabric cover, and if you're thinking about getting a Kindle, definitely check those out, because I need a cover ASAP. —Boutayna Chokrane An Eye for Pie I've probably seen one of these at every garage sale I've been to in the past 10 years, passing them up because I didn't want to have to store them. But here I am, paying retail price for not just one pie iron but two! My family camps every year here on the West Coast (or tries to, anyway), and for the past few years, burn bans have precluded us from cooking anything fun. I'm probably conjuring a burn ban this year just by buying these, but I consider it an investment in my fantasy of making stuffed French toast and pizza pockets, even if that ends up being next year. (If I'm not fed up with storing them before then.) —Kat Merck The Cool Kid Tumbler WIRED reviewer Louryn Strampe bought an Owala 40-ounce reusable tumbler on the first day of Prime Day, and it has already arrived to keep her hydrated until Prime Day finishes its wild run. So far she really likes the handle—she says it's got a perfect groove for her thumb to rest in—and that the slimmer bottom can fit into cup holders when you hop into the car. You can remove the straw and still be able to drink from it, and that straw-free style is leakproof. Extra bonus: Removable rubber seals make it super easy to clean, which is huge. I had the same tumbler and loved it but can't find it now … which means this is a clear sign for me to also purchase one. Monochrome Workout Gear Have you heard of color analysis? It's a concept where each person has a specific season of colors that suit them best. It's been catching attention on TikTok, particularly from me obsessively searching how I can figure out my season. On the recommendation of other WIRED gals, I asked ChatGPT, which told me I'm a cool summer and that I can no longer wear orange, black, or gold. A different quiz has since told me I might be a cool winter instead and didn't ban black, but now I fear my all-black outfits at dance class aren't what I should wear. (Don't get me started on how many gold earrings I own.) My solution? Dark blue outfits, specifically a new set from CRZ Yoga. A few other WIRED staffers praised the brand's workout gear, and I liked that I could find a nice shade of dark, ashy blue that should match whatever of these seasons I'm in and won't show sweat or bloat as easily as a lighter-colored set. I scored both a set of shorts and a workout bra in the Butterluxe fabric, and I'm excited to get it in the mail to see if it's as soft as I hope. Books for the Kids WIRED reviewer Adrienne So used Prime Day to pick up the Ramona Collection for her son. The classic series is on a serious discount, and it's the perfect book series to pick up—a story about a rambunctious 8-year-old—when you have a rambunctious 8-year-old like Adrienne does. Snag it on sale for a gift, or add to the bookshelf of any kiddo room (or your own nostalgia bookshelf—now I'm checking if Amelia Bedelia is on sale on the pretense of reading it to my toddler, but I really want it for me!). A Cat Parent Kit Unfortunately, this grooming kit is the only thing I've bought so far for Amazon Prime Day. As the pet tech writer here at WIRED, my cats are so spoiled. Like, if they were humans, they'd be bad people. (Oh wait, now that I'm writing this, I realize I've also bought a cat tent, treats, and toys and have been seriously eyeing this floor-to-ceiling cat tree.) But anywho, one of my aforementioned cats has super-beautiful, very floofy long hair, which unfortunately for both of us means that sometimes she gets poop stuck on the fur near her behind. At times, I've been a negligent mother, letting her clean up her own mess; wiped her with wet cloths; or once, took her for an ill-fated dip in the kitchen sink. This most recent time, I realized I have to intervene and help her get rid of the stinkiness, so I bought this cordless grooming kit with varying sizes of blades. That way I can make sure I'm being safe while trimming her sensitive areas. She might be resentful of me, but at least she still won't be a smelly cat anymore. —Molly Higgins A Washable Rug Washable rugs. Yes, you can shampoo your rugs, and I do often, but when you're potty training a puppy, sometimes you gotta throw the whole dang thing into the washing machine. I bought this rug at the start of Prime Day, and it has already arrived and been installed on my floor. My first impression is it's super soft and has been easy to clean (as it should be!) and that it's best to use a lighter vacuum. —Julia Forbes Adjustable Weights I have a vision for the extra-large landing at the base of my stairs: workout corner. This adorable workout mat I bought this week is the main inspiration for the space (which is on sale on its own site but not on Amazon, funny enough), along with a massive secondhand mirror I'll use to check my awful posture, but the big necessity of the space is on sale for Prime Day: adjustable weights. The set I got from LifePro goes up to 25 pounds on each dumbbell, but the single adjustable weights are also on sale. I'm on a mission to raise the strength in my left arm to balance with my right and am hoping these can help me get there. I'm also snagging these wrist weights on sale. A Shoe Saver Courtesy of Crep Protect Crep Protect Shoe Protector Spray & Biodegradable Sneaker Cleaning Wipes $26 $24 (8% off) Amazon My family is traveling to Alaska later this summer, and in a development that will surprise no parent anywhere, my 12-year-old is not interested in either owning or wearing any type of boot or appropriate footwear for seven days of hiking in the Klondike. My solution: a can of this waterproofing spray, a pair of old basketball shoes, and a prayer. Who knows if it will work; if you want to find out, just look for the family walking around Juneau with a tween who looks like he has wet, muddy clumps of mud for feet. —Kat Merck Body Butter Galore Courtesy of Sol de Janeiro Sol de Janeiro Rio Trio Body Cream Discovery Set $38 $30 (21% off) Amazon Remember Regina George's army pants and flip flops? Well, my fellow reviewer Boutayna Chokrane bought Sol De Janeiro's Rio Trio Discovery Set, so I bought the Rio Trio discovery set. There are three different body creams in the package, each promising different types of results, and my fellow writers have confirmed that the popular Brazilian Bum Bum Cream included in the set smells amazing. I can't wait to see what they all smell like and to hear which one both Boutayna and I like best of the set. We've validated our purchase with the fact that all three of these are travel-size, so you can bring them along on your next flight. Conveniently Eco-Friendly Coffee I felt really bad flying through as many K-Cups as I did with my Keurig coffee maker, so kudos to whoever invented a more eco-friendly solution. Pro tip: Buy filters to go with these pods; they make the machine run a lot more smoothly. —Julia Forbes The New Parent's Necessity With the impending arrival of our first child, my wife and I are learning that the amount of physical things you can acquire for said child is seemingly infinite. That's why we've been grabbing everything we can from friends and family and scooping up the rest on super sales. Like this very affordable baby mirror, our second such purchase for our second vehicle. We can't wait to get eyes (and keep eyes) on the little tyke, and this is a fun reminder. —Ryan Waniata

Amazon knocks over £100 off the Kindle Scribe for Prime Day
Amazon's Kindle Scribe, which allows writing on the page, has dropped to the lowest price we've seen for Prime Day Amazon has knocked over £100 off the Kindle Scribe in their latest sale, in a better than Black Friday deal that's ideal for those who have had their eye on the pricy e-reader. There are two Kindle Scribes currently on the market, the 2022 model which has dropped down to £199.99 from £329.99 for Prime Day and the 2024 model which is a lot steeper at £267.99 from £429.99. The Scribe stands out as an e-reader that comes with a pen, allowing readers to draw notes directly onto the page. There's also the opportunity to create notebooks and journals while drawing on PDFs and reading. The more expensive model has a redesigned display and a premium pen included rather than the basic ben that comes with the £199.99 offer. Both come with three months of Kindle Unlimited for free, which is worth £9.49 a month. The Kindle Scribe is a popular options for fans of the Remarkable 2, which is currently £429 at Currys. Both devices are similar although the Remarkable 2 doesn't have a built in e-reader. Kobo also has a Libra Colour which allows handwritten notes but is much smaller in size than the Scribe, it's currently £189.99 at Amazon. There doesn't appear to be that much different with the two models and the 2022 one actually has a higher average rating across even more reviews. One thrilled shopper said: "I use my Scribe every day without fail, whether its just to jot down reminders, drawing or brainstorming ideas that my old brain might forget. All I have to do to start reading or writing, is open the cover, just like opening a book! Because it's only asleep, it takes about a second to wake up and be ready for whatever you want to read, write or draw. I know it's never going to let me down for insufficient power, due to its amazing battery that lasts for weeks. I love this thing and it's with me day or night." One shopper insists they can't go without their Kindle Scribe, although they do wish it had more colour options. The 2024 model does have a metallic jade option although there are only two shades. The review reads: " Would not be without it. My Kindle Scribe has become an integral part of my workflow and productivity, I would not be able to do many of the things I do now without it. As a note maker, I have historically made do with carrying around several notebooks for different projects, which was impractical and increasingly cumbersome whilst travelling out and about." They continued: "I primarily got the Kindle Scribe because: 1) As a note maker, I wanted to limit the number of physical notebooks I had that was taking up space on my bookshelves and that I would carry about whilst doing my daily commute. 2) I also wanted continue to be able to read the numerous books I had on my Kindle Paperwhite. 3) I also wanted to be able to create my own planners and use. 4) To ensure that I had only one device and space where I could do all my planning and ideas generation. Since purchasing it I have to say that it has made note-making much easier, although one tiny gripe, that I wish Amazon would make a colour Kindle Scribe, with the ability to create your own custom templates."

Amazon Prime Day includes the latest Kindle Scribe on sale for a record-low price
It's usually wise to wait for Amazon Prime Day to pick up a Kindle ereader since the online retailer typically saves the best deals for its own shopping events. Case in point: this deal on the latest Kindle Scribe. The E Ink tablet is down to $260 during day three of the sale, which is $140 off and the cheapest we've seen it. You'll get that price on the base 16GB model, but there are similar discounts on the 32GB and 64GB configurations as well. The Kindle Scribe is Amazon's answer to devices like the reMarkable E ink tablet. It's both a standard ereader and a tablet for taking notes, as it ships with a pen for scribbling. This makes it handy for writing down thoughts or for mindlessly drawing pizza slices. Users can jot notes over books, but not every title supports this feature. The Scribe made our list of the best E Ink tablets for a number of reasons. We appreciated the low latency when writing. In most cases, users won't notice any latency at all. The latest software update also brings in new brush types, which now include a fountain pen, a marker and a pencil. This device makes it easy to create multiple notebooks for different purposes. There are even some AI tools for summarization and the like. Of course, it's also a standard ereader. I have a Scribe and, to be honest, I use it primarily for reading. The giant 10.2-inch screen is just so luxe and offers a superior reading experience to standard-sized Kindles. It's a bit heavier and cumbersome to hold for long periods, but that tradeoff is worth it to me. The only major downside here is the price. It's tough to recommend a $400 ereader, even with all of the handwriting bells and whistles. However, this sale certainly takes the edge off a bit.

I Haven't Traveled Without My Kindle Paperwhite in 10 Years—and the Newest Version Just Went on Sale
One of my greatest travel pleasures is settling in with my Kindle. Whether I'm sitting on a plane, lounging on the beach, sunbathing poolside, or snuggling into my hotel bed, my Kindle Paperwhite is always by my side. Gone are the days of lugging a separate bag just for books on vacation (I easily devour four to five books per trip), because this ingenious device is like having an entire library at your fingertips—all in a gadget that weighs less than a pound. For me, it's the ultimate trip must-have, and it should be for you too. Luckily, Amazon is hosting a sale on Kindles in honor of Prime Day right now. You can score the Kindle Paperwhite for $125, and if you're on a budget, you can also snag the Amazon Kindle for less than $100. Students, note takers, and those who like to scrawl or doodle on the pages of their books, will enjoy the Kindle Scribe, which has the largest discount of 35 percent and $140 off. Just make sure you shop these Kindles before the deals expire. Like the original Amazon Kindle e-reader, the Kindle Paperwhite offers endless advantages. For example, I enjoy reading under the sun, and its glare-free, 7-inch screen is a game-changing feature. Plus, it's waterproof, which means I can read worry-free near the ocean or pool. With 16 gigabytes of storage, the 6.9-inch by 4.9-inch by .32-inch device holds thousands of books. Speaking from experience, the book choices seem limitless—from my beloved authors like Kristin Hannah and Taylor Jenkins Reid to recommendations from friends, the Kindle Paperwhite library always has a new adventure awaiting. What's more, it boasts up to 12 weeks' worth of battery life, making it hassle-free for travel—all you have to do is ensure it's fully charged before you go on your way. I'm also a fan of its built-in light feature, which makes it perfect for bedside reading, especially if you're sharing a room, as it eliminates the need for a lamp. This is also great for frequent fliers who don't want to disturb their seatmates by turning on the overhead light mid-flight. Courtesy of Amazon For my fellow literary nerds out there, there's even the option to highlight quotes that resonate with you and look up words while you're reading; just press down on the one that you need the definition for, and the Kindle dictionary will do the rest. And I'm not alone in my Kindle enthusiasm, as evidenced by the over 5,200 five-star reviews from Amazon shoppers. One wrote, "This Kindle is possibly the best purchase I've ever made. It's so portable, practically pocket-sized," adding that it's a breeze to take "on planes, in cars, in my bag to restaurants... I even managed to slip it into an oversized jean jacket pocket on cooler nights. It's amazing." For anyone eager to read more and spend less time in front of the TV or on their phones, the Kindle is the perfect gateway. Believe me, there's a book choice for everyone. Pulling from my own personal favorites, if you're into thrillers, try Colleen Hoover's 'Verity.' For drama enthusiasts, check out Taylor Jenkins Reid's 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.' If you're looking to learn something along the way, dive into historical fiction like Kristin Hannah's 'The Nightingale.' Once you start, you won't want to put the Kindle down. Convinced? I thought you'd be. Transform your travel entertainment and finally cross those books off your list by taking advantage of this Prime Day deal. And, don't forget to protect your new Kindle Paperwhite with a case; the CoBak Case is 50 percent off, making it just $10 to add some protective style to your e-reader. If you're still on the hunt for the best Prime Day tech deals that Amazon has to offer, keep reading for unbeatable finds that are too good to miss, including major savings on Apple AirPods Pro, Apple AirTags, and other travel essentials. Courtesy of Apple At the time of publishing, the price started at $125. Love a great deal? Sign up for our T+L Recommends newsletter and we'll send you our favorite travel products each week.
