Masam Project Removes 1,273 Explosives in Yemen Last Week
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), through its Masam project for clearing explosives in Yemen, successfully dismantled 1,273 during the second week of May across the country. The cleared explosives included 1,239 unexploded ordnances and 34 anti-tank mines. In Aden Governorate alone, the Masam team removed 1,187 unexploded munitions, in addition to one device in Qa'atabah District (Al-Dhale'e Governorate), three in Hays District (Al-Hudaydah Governorate), and two in Al-Wuhait District (Lahij Governorate). In Marib Governorate, the team cleared 32 anti-tank mines in Marib District. In Taiz Governorate, one unexploded device was removed in Moza District, two anti-tank mines and six devices in Dhubab District, and 39 devices in Al-Mudhaffar District. With this, the total number of explosives removed in May has reached 3,112, bringing the overall total since the start of the Masam project to 493,256 explosives, which had been indiscriminately planted across Yemeni territory—endangering civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.

Yemen : MASAM Project Clears 1,839 Explosives in first week of May
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Masam Project successfully cleared a total of 1,839 explosives in different parts of Yemen during the first days of May. The operation involved the removal of 1,813 unexploded ordnance and 26 anti-tank mines. Since its launch, the Masam Project has successfully removed 491,983 explosives that were indiscriminately planted in various areas of Yemen, posing a significant threat to innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.

KSrelief Launches Project to Protect Women Affected by Gender-Based Violence in Yemen
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a project to protect and empower women affected by gender-based violence in the Aden and Taiz governorates of Yemen. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the Yemeni Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. According to SPA, over 12 months, the project will directly benefit 18,000 displaced women and violence survivors, as well as 325 frontline workers in safe spaces and protection centers. It seeks an indirect impact on around 126,000 individuals. The project aims to improve the protection of women and girls, build the skills of workers in managing violence cases, expand psychosocial and legal support services, and raise community awareness through women's rights education campaigns. UN Women Yemen representative Dina Zorba thanked Saudi Arabia, through KSrelief, for its generous support and humanitarian vision prioritizing women's empowerment. She emphasized that the project goes beyond protection services, representing an integrated approach to restoring dignity, enhancing resilience, and empowering women as active partners in peacebuilding and recovery. The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts, through KSrelief, to empower women in Yemen and strengthen their positive role in society.

Yemen : Masam Clears 1,488 Houthi Mines in a Week
Aden - The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's (KSrelief) Masam Project has achieved a significant milestone in Yemen by successfully clearing 1,488 mines during the fourth week of April 2025. These mines, planted indiscriminately across various regions, posed a grave threat to civilians, including children, women, and the elderly. The cleared ordnance included three anti-personnel mines, 46 anti-tank mines, 1,437 unexploded munitions, and two improvised explosive devices. This effort is part of a broader initiative that has removed a total of 4,036 mines in April alone, bringing the cumulative total since the project's inception to an impressive 490,144 mines2. The Masam Project continues to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of Yemeni communities, restoring hope and stability in the region. Its dedicated teams remain committed to combating the dangers posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance.

Saudi Arabia's aid tops $134bln across 172 countries
LONDON — Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah said that Saudi Arabia has provided over $134 billion in aid to 172 countries during the period between 1996 and 2025. Addressing a meeting with members of the UK House of Lords in the United Kingdom's parliament in London on Monday, he noted that KSrelief was established on May 13, 2015 as a generous initiative by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to serve as a specialized entity delivering diverse humanitarian and relief programs. 'The KSrelief has implemented 3,400 projects in 107 countries, with a total value of some $8 billion, covering vital sectors such as food security, education, health, protection, nutrition, water and sanitation, and other essential areas to address humanitarian needs worldwide,' he said. Dr. Al-Rabeeah pointed out that the center has carried out 1,089 projects specifically dedicated to women worldwide, with a total value exceeding $868 million, and 1,029 projects focused on children, worth over $1 billion, benefiting more than 219 million children. The KSrelief chief highlighted that the Saudi Conjoined Twins Program, a globally unique initiative that receives conjoined and parasitic twins from around the world and covers all expenses related to their separation surgeries, medical care, and post-operative rehabilitation. Since its inception in 1990, the program has evaluated 149 cases from 27 countries and successfully performed 62 separation surgeries. Regarding refugees in the Kingdom, Dr. Al-Rabeeah noted that Saudi Arabia is among the leading host countries, referring to refugees as "visitors," with a total of 1,095,029 individuals from Yemen, Syria, and Myanmar. The Kingdom grants them the right to work and provides free healthcare and education in public schools.
