Cambridge man charged with sexual offences following assault: N.S. RCMP
A 27-year-old Cambridge, N.S., man is facing charges related to sexual offences following an alleged sexual assault in the community. Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a woman who had been sexually assaulted at a Cambridge home around 2:15 p.m. on July 7. Tyler Matthew Winchester has been charged with: trafficking in persons material benefit – trafficking obtaining sexual services for consideration administering noxious thing aggravated assault uttering threats two counts of assault unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapon 'The offences for which Winchester is charged involve one victim, but the investigation is ongoing and we have not ruled out the potential for more victims,' said Staff Sgt. Ed Nugent, senior operations NCO for Kings District RCMP, in a news release. Winchester was held in custody and appeared in Kentville provincial court on July 9. Police say he remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 6. 'Anyone who may be experiencing human trafficking is encouraged to contact the Nova Scotia Human Trafficking hotline or their local police. Our first priority is supporting survivors, and we only proceed if they're comfortable with charges being laid,' said Nugent. RCMP investigating two incidents of indecent acts in the Annapolis Valley
An RCMP vehicle is seen in this file photo. Police in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley are investigating two incidents of indecent acts. The first incident occurred in Kingston, around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers responded to a report of a man exposing himself on the Harvest Moon trail, between Commercial Street and Bent Road. The RCMP says officers searched the trail and spoke with people in the area, but were not able to find the man. According to police, the man is described as about 30 years old and five-foot-10. He was wearing a white tank top and black shorts. Kings District RCMP responded to a second report of a man exposing himself on Thursday just before 11 p.m. Police say the man was located alongside Highway 358, near the 960 block, in Port Williams. Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the man. Police say the man was between 40 and 50 years old, wearing a T-shirt, shorts, ball cap and a backpack. The RCMP doesn't believe the two incidents are related and the investigations are ongoing. Aylesford man facing 10 charges related to drugs, firearms: N.S. RCMP

Kings District RCMP executed a search warrant Friday at a property on Morden Road in Aylesford as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. 'During the search, which was led by Kings District Southwest Nova Street Crimes Enforcement Unit, officers seized a quantity of cocaine, cash, and unstamped tobacco,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. 'Officers also located a firearm, which was found to be modified and not stored safely or properly. The firearm was also seized.' Barry Rawding, 49, was arrested and charged with: possession for the purpose of trafficking proceeds of crime over $5,000 careless storage of a firearm possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing possession of firearm is unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition possession of unstamped tobacco ( Revenue Act ) ) possession of unstamped tobacco ( Excise Act ) ) possession of tobacco without taxes paid Rawding was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear at Kentville provincial court on Sept. 3. Youth charged in alleged sexual assault on walking trail in Canning, N.S.
An RCMP detachment can be seen in this file photo. (David Prisciak/CTV News) A youth is facing charges after another youth reported a sexual assault on a walking trail in Canning, N.S., last week. The RCMP responded to the trail between the Northeast Kings Education Centre and the Glooscap District Arena around 3:40 p.m. on June 6. The alleged victim told police a male in a ski mask had assaulted them while they were walking from the school to the arena. Police searched the area with the help of RCMP Police Dog Services but were unable to find the suspect at the time. Kings District RCMP arrested a youth on Thursday and executed a search warrant at a home in Canning, where police say they found items to support their investigation. The youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with: assault sexual assault disguise with intent They were released pending an appearance in youth court on July 24. 'The courage the victim showed in fighting off their attacker was tremendous. Sexual assaults are an afront to society and, as in this case, have the power to inflict paralyzing fear in a community,' said RCMP Supt. Jason Popik in a news release Friday. 'Through the support of the victim and their family, the Kings District investigators and street crime enforcement unit members identified and charged the accused, which will hopefully bring reassurance to the victim and their family as well as the community.'
