Nintendo Stock (NTDOF) Dips on Kirby Air Riders Direct
Nintendo (NTDOF) stock was down on Tuesday following its special Kirby Air Riders Direct presentation. This Nintendo Direct provided investors and gamers with new details about the game, including a release date. Kirby Air Riders will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20, 2025, roughly 22 years after the original Kirby Air Ride came out on the GameCube. The Kirby Air Riders Direct also revealed that the popular City Trial mode from the original game will return in this sequel. This time around, up to 16 players will be able to compete in the City Trial online, and a max of eight on local wireless. The game also features new characters, allowing gamers to play as more than just Kirby. In addition to this, these characters will also be able to use copy abilities to keep the game fair for everyone. Kirby creator Masahiro Sakurai is serving as the director of Kirby Air Riders, his first time heading a game in the series since Kirby Air Ride. Sakurai has led the creation of several popular series at Nintendo, including Super Smash Bros. The teams that worked on Super Smash Bros. also worked on Kirby Air Riders. Nintendo Stock Movement Today Nintendo stock slipped 0.26% on Tuesday, but remained up 70.69% year-to-date. The shares have also increased 81.18% over the past 12 months. Today's dip could be a sign that investors weren't impressed by the Kirby Air Riders Direct. However, the drop is small enough that it likely doesn't matter in the long run. Is Nintendo Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold? Turning to Wall Street, the analysts' consensus rating for Nintendo is Moderate Buy, based on nine Buy, two Hold, and a single Sell rating over the past three months. With that comes an average NTDOF stock price target of $98.57, representing a 0.2% downside for the shares.

The game will launch on November 20, 2025, which makes a game-focused Direct this soon a little strange, as these broadcasts typically happen close to the game's release. It opens up the door for speculation of what's on the way sooner, as September still lacks a first-party title for the Switch 2. However, with Gamescom Opening Night Live just hours away, it's possible that we may have our answer sooner rather than later, with many people having their fingers crossed that Metroid Prime 4 is just a month away.
