Danville man arrested, charged with Aggravated Battery
Danville Police have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with a stabbing in the 2100 block of East Main Street.
Police were called to the area at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, May 22, with a report that a 47-year-old Danville man had been stabbed. The victim was airlifted from the scene to Carle Hospital in Urbana and is listed in stable condition.
'During the investigation, officers received valuable witness information and a description of the suspect,' Deputy Chief Terry McCord said. 'Danville Police Officers located 41-year-old Daniel Kist, of Danville, approximately nine blocks from the scene of the incident.
Kist was arrested and taken to the Public Safety Building, where detectives questioned him.'
Kist was booked and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. He is being held at the Vermilion County jail pending a pre-trial hearing.
'The Danville Police Department would like to thank the community and those who spoke up after seeing something. Information provided to officers on the scene was crucial in locating the suspect who fled,' McCord said.
