Kita MADANI Carnival : Fresh Chicken, Packet Cooking Oil Popular Items At Rahmah MADANI Sale
MUAR, July 27 (Bernama) -- The Rahmah MADANI Sales Programme (PJRM) at the Kita MADANI Carnival, being organised in conjunction with the 2025 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign, continues to receive an overwhelming response, with hundreds of visitors crowding the sales area since early today. They were seen lining up to purchase essential goods at significantly reduced prices, with top-selling items including fresh chicken, packet cooking oil and eggs. Many were seen leaving with bags full of affordable daily necessities. 'With the high cost of living, programmes like this are very helpful. For example, the price of chicken at RM6.50 per kilogram is really cheap compared to market prices which can go up to almost RM8 per kilogramme,' said housewife, Norazilah Aman@Ahmad, 42, from Sungai Abong, here. Meanwhile, Abdul Nasir Ali, 68, said he spent about RM80 on various household essentials, which would have cost nearly RM150 at a supermarket or local grocery store. 'Whenever there is a PJRM, I will definitely go to get kitchen supplies. It's a loss if we don't take advantage of it. The government has provided initiatives, so we have to take the opportunity," said a former lorry driver who lives in Rawang, Sungai Mati, here. For Hadijah Abdul Rahman, 47, the PJRM is proof of the government's concern, especially for the underprivileged. "The range of items offered is very diverse, from vegetables to wet and dry ingredients. People have many choices and can save money with the cheaper prices offered," said the Pagoh Jaya resident. The PJRM is among the side programmes held since last Friday in conjunction with the launch of the 2025 National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today. It also features various community and family-oriented activities such as colouring competitions and a singing competition, known as the Bintang Suara MADANI, art performances, and local cultural activities.
