KLUANG: Two local men, including a teenager, were detained for allegedly being involved in a break-in at a sundry shop at a pineapple farm in Simpang Renggam near here. The two suspects, aged 15 and 23 years old, were arrested following a police report lodged by the sundry shop owner on July 30, at 11pm. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said they were apprehended on Thursday (Aug 7) at 2am at Lorong 5, Jalan Ladang Nenas, Simpang Renggam. 'Initial investigations found they have no previous criminal record and they tested negative for drugs," he said in a statement. ACP Bahrin said the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code with the offence of lurking house-trespass or housebreaking with the intention to commit an offence punishable with imprisonment. If the intended offense is theft, the penalty can be up to 14 years of imprisonment and a fine, or canning. He said the suspects were remanded separately with the first suspect from Aug 7 to 13, while the second suspect from Aug 7 until 11, 2025. ACP Bahrin called upon those with information on the case to go to the nearest police station or contact the Kluang Police Contingent at 07-778 8422, 07-778 4256 (Direct Line), 07-776 6822 (Hotline) or 014-365 6822 (Tablet DCC).

KLUANG: Police arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly robbing and assaulting a security guard who was on duty. Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the 68-year-old victim lodged a police report about the incident, which occurred in front of a building at Jalan Panggung here around 3.30pm last Thursday (July 3). "The suspect struck the victim on the head and body with an iron bar and a wooden stick. "He then took the victim's phone and a watch worth RM300, which had been placed on a table,' he said in a statement on Monday (July 7). He said the security guard sustained swelling to his head, body and hands due to the assault. ACP Bahrin added that the suspect was arrested at Jalan Jelutong on Saturday (July 5). 'A background check revealed that the suspect has three prior criminal records and one drug-related offence. "The suspect has been remanded for five days to assist in investigations under Section 394 of the Penal Code," he said. He added that the case has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor, and the suspect is expected to be charged in court on Wednesday (July 9).

Verdict: TRUE A man was detained after allegedly injuring and threatening an individual in an incident outside a petrol station in Parkland, Kluang, Johor on Tuesday (April 22). Kluang OCPD ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh stated that the 28-year-old suspect was arrested by a team from the Criminal Investigation Division during Ops Cantas at Taman Berlian Biru at 10am on Wednesday (April 23). "The incident occurred at 6.15pm," said ACP Bahrin, adding that checks revealed the suspect had four prior drug-related records.
