Mitchell Robinson left feeling ‘like s–t' after long road back ends with Knicks playoff heartbreak
INDIANAPOLIS — A long and arduous road back for Mitchell Robinson led him all the way back to the Knicks' starting lineup in the Eastern Conference finals. It made the way it all ended Saturday that much more painful. 'S–tty, bro. Like s–t,' Robinson described his feelings at his locker following the Knicks' season-ending 125-108 loss to the Pacers in Game 6. 'I don't even got words, to be honest with you. 'Obviously, I didn't play the full year, came back in, what, late February, March and grinded the whole time all the way up to this point. 'I'm happy that we got this far, but I don't know, man. We gave away two [games] at home early, then we were playing out of a hole, and you can't do that.' 3 Mitchell Robinson dunks the ball during the Knicks' 125-108 season-ending Game 6 loss to the Pacers on May 31, 2025. Charles Wenzelberg Robinson missed the first four months of the regular season following surgery to repair an ankle injury suffered in last year's playoffs. The longest-tenured Knick returned to the starting lineup in Memphis on Feb. 28, and he appeared in 17 regular-season games and all 18 in three rounds of the playoffs. With the starting unit struggling defensively at the start of games, Robinson finally was inserted into the starting lineup alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in Game 3 against the Pacers, with Josh Hart moving to a reserve role. The 7-foot Robinson provided eight points on 4-for-4 shooting with nine rebounds and two blocked shots in Game 6, with five of those boards coming on the offensive end, all in the first half. 3 Mitchell Robinson attempts to pull down a rebound during the Knicks' Game 6 loss to the Pacers. Charles Wenzelberg He didn't have as much of a two-way impact in the second half, however, and admitted he 'should've kept my energy up, but I feel like I didn't play to my full potential.' Still, Robinson's unique ability to provide extra possessions for the Knicks on the offensive end helped keep them within four points at halftime despite slow starts by Towns and Jalen Brunson. Josh Hart knows Knicks could be heading for ‘changes' after playoff run falls short
INDIANAPOLIS — Josh Hart is preparing for changes. The Knicks likely will not be the same next season, as much as Hart would like to see the same roster return. 'You're always going to hear me say, 'Run it back,' ' Hart said after the Knicks' season ended in dismal fashion with a 125-108, Game 6 loss to the Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 'I think you heard me say the same thing last year with the guys we had. I'd like to do it. I feel like this team is good enough to make the next step. But it's a business. And when you don't get to where you feel like you could've or should've, changes are made.' It will be interesting to see how the Knicks proceed after reaching the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in 25 years. The entire core of Hart, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson and Miles McBride are under contract for next season. 3 Josh Hart defends Tyrese Haliburton during the Knicks' 125-108 season-ending Game 6 loss to the Pacers on May 31, 2025.. Charles Wenzelberg Coach Tom Thibodeau called it a 'big offseason' coming up. Brunson said he was 'the most confident' the current group can take the next step. But Hart has seen enough in his time in the NBA to know that things can change. 3 OG Anunoby, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are pictured on the Knicks' bench during their Game 6 loss. Charles Wenzelberg 3 Josh Hart (l.) reacts in frustration during the Knicks' Game 6 loss to the Pacers. Charles Wenzelberg 'This is my eighth year. This is my fourth organization. I've had six or seven coaches,' Hart said. 'It's tough, we're going to have to see. Don't think you can ever be too comfortable. I'll open [the X app] one day and I'm somewhere else. That's what's disappointing the most, knowing there's a good chance this team might not be back in totality.' Former Knick Obi Toppin saved his best moments of the series for the final game. Toppin hammered the Knicks off the bench, scoring 18 points and adding six rebounds in 25 minutes. He was part of a monster effort by the Indiana reserves. They had 38 points. Forward Thomas Bryant scored 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. He logged a total of nine minutes in the previous four games. Thibodeau said he went to Delon Wright over the final four games of the series instead of Cam Payne because he wanted more size against Pacers backup guard T.J. McConnell. As for Landry Shamet, Thibodeau said he didn't play much in the Celtics series because Boston was only going eight deep and the idea was to match up Bridges and Anunoby against Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

Knicks fans erupt after Mitchell Robinson's violent Tyrese Haliburton block
The post Knicks fans erupt after Mitchell Robinson's violent Tyrese Haliburton block appeared first on ClutchPoints. Mitchell Robinson turned to his right hand to wake up the Madison Square Garden crowd. And hand Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton a rather forgettable moment on his end. But Robinson ignited the New York Knicks fans in this crucial NBA Playoffs meeting. Advertisement With their season on the line, Tom Thibodeau threw in his big defender. Robinson tracked Haliburton inside the paint as the Pacers star attempted a circus layup. Robinson swatted it with violent intent, however. Robinson delivered the type of play that extended the Eastern Conference Finals. His Knicks faced elimination walking into MSG Thursday — as the Pacers held a 3-1 advantage. Haliburton even drew comparisons to Stephen Curry beforehand. But the Knicks pummeled Indiana 111-94 to force a Game 6 on Saturday. But the Robinson blocked got the Knicks fans turning up the decibel levels inside the arena. And spark multiple online reactions. Reactions sprout for Knicks' Mitchell Robinson block on Tyrese Haliburton Brad Penner-Imagn Images Fans flooded to X (formerly known as Twitter) to sound off on the Robinson block. Plus his overall play in Game 5. One fan reminded others of Robinson's longevity. Advertisement 'Just a reminder that Mitchell Robinson is the longest tenure Knick. Put some respect on that mans name!' the fan account posted. The account Hoops Herald posted clips of his biggest plays before he joined the Knicks. As a reminder of how dominant Robinson is. That fiery block wasn't Robinson's lone highlight. Jalen Brunson lobbed him the basketball before that swat. Robinson delivered this throw down to spark the early first quarter energy. The 27-year-old center raised his game another level with the Knicks facing elimination. Or even the Pacers celebrating the Eastern Conference title on their home floor. Robinson clearly wasn't in the mood to end his season. Robinson finished with six points and grabbed six rebounds. He pulled off both marks through 20 minutes of action.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs trial updates: Witness testimony to resume on Tuesday
The hip-hop mogul is charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. 3:08 This story may contain accounts and descriptions of actual or alleged events that some readers may find disturbing. Witnesses will return to the stand on Tuesday in the trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs. May 19, 9:23 am Sean Combs trial underway The highly anticipated trial of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is underway. Combs has been accused of sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy as part of a blockbuster federal indictment originally filed in September 2024. He later faced two additional superseding indictments. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges. Combs is accused of being the ringleader of an alleged enterprise that "abused, threatened and coerced women" into prolonged, drug-fueled sexual orgies with male prostitutes, which he called "freak offs," and then threatened them into silence. Combs has said that all of the sex was consensual and that while his relationships sometimes involved domestic violence, he wasn't engaged in trafficking. Combs' lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs was simply part of the swinger lifestyle and that he "vehemently denies the accusations made by the SDNY" and "looks forward to his day in court." 13 minutes ago Witness testimony to resume on Tuesday The third week of the trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs will resume in New York City on Tuesday, with witness testimony set to continue. When court resumes on Tuesday, federal prosecutors plan to call Combs' former assistant Capricorn Clark and representatives from Los Angeles fire and police departments. Across two weeks of testimony in Combs' sex-trafficking and racketeering trial, federal prosecutors called 16 witnesses, attempting to prove the rap mogul embraced violence and threats to coerce women into sex and protect his music empire. Among those who have already taken the stand are musician and Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, her mother Regina, Combs' former personal assistants David James and George Kaplan, plus rapper Kid Cudi whose legal name is Scott Mescudi. Combs has pleaded not guilty and denies sexually assaulting or trafficking anyone. Combs' lawyers have argued that the rap mogul's domestic violence was driven by jealousy and drug addiction, and that his voyeuristic sexual activities, while not mainstream, are his private business and do not amount to sex trafficking. Court adjourns for the week after HSI agent testifies about computer data extractions Testimony concluded for the week with an agent from Homeland Security Investigations who conducted data extraction from three laptop computers that belonged to Cassie Ventura. One of the laptops allegedly included a user profile for Frank Black, an alias used by Sean Combs. Court is now adjourned until Tuesday. 'Do not talk to anyone about the case,' Judge Arun Subramanian instructed the juror before dismissing them, telling them instead to 'watch the Knicks avenge their Game One loss.' Subramanian also told the jury that the trial is 'right on schedule.' When court resumes on Tuesday, federal prosecutors said they plan to call Combs' former assistant, Capricorn Clark, as well as representatives from the Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Fire Department. 'I think we are right on time,' prosecutor Maureen Comey said of the pace of testimony, telling the jury the government's case would take about six weeks total to present. 'I would think that we should be able to wrap this up before the Fourth of July,' Comey said. The defense asked Judge Subramanian to allow Combs to have additional access to videoconferencing from jail. Subramanian said he has had no luck with the Bureau of Prisons. Prosecutors said they would call and ask on the judge's behalf. Absent videoconferencing time, the defense sought additional phone time, saying Combs is 'out of minutes.'

Tom Thibodeau shakes up Knicks' starting lineup with major change before must-win Game 3
INDIANAPOLIS — Tom Thibodeau pulled the trigger. The Knicks coach finally saw enough from his struggling starting lineup to make a move. For Sunday night's must-win Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, Thibodeau sent Josh Hart to the bench and replaced him with Mitchell Robinson in his first five. Advertisement 3 Josh Hart reacts during the Knick's Game 2 loss to the Pacers on May 23. Charles Wenzelberg The decision comes on the heels of the Knicks dropping the first two games of this series at home. Thibodeau had been resistant to making the move, saying multiple times in recent days that the coaching staff looks at everything. 'Every player has different strengths and weaknesses and so sometimes you look at the impact one may have on one particular unit. But there's also a trickle down,' Thibodeau said during his pregame news conference. 'There's other things you have to factor in. How does it impact the second group? I don't look at starting lineups, per se. I look at the groupings, and then you're mixing and matching also to take advantage of what everyone's strengths and weaknesses are to try to get the most out of the team.' Follow The Post's coverage of the Knicks in the 2025 NBA Playoffs Sports+ subscribers: Sign up for Inside the Knicks to get daily newsletter coverage and join Expert Take for insider texts about the series. Advertisement Asked what factors he weighed before making the decision, Thibodeau said: 'Everything.' The starting five of Hart, Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns has been outscored in the playoffs by 81 points, with a NET rating of minus-9.5 (meaning they have been outscored by 9.5 points per 100 possessions). That is the worst mark of a starting group of any of the four remaining teams in the playoffs. The Pacers starters have a NET rating of plus-20.7. That Knicks group also has a defensive rating of 117.6, considerably higher than the team's postseason mark of 113.0. Advertisement Robinson, the team's top interior defender and best offensive rebounder, is second on the Knicks in NET rating at plus-8.6 behind Miles McBride's plus-8.8. Oddly, the fivesome of Robinson, Brunson, Towns, Anunoby and Bridges have only shared the floor together for seven minutes this entire postseason. 3 Mitchell Robinson blocks a shot during the Knicks' Game 2 loss to the Pacers on May 23. Charles Wenzelberg 'I've been the 15th man, I've been the third man, I've been the sixth man, I've been whatever,' Hart said after the morning shootaround at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. 'I truly feel like I'm a starter in the league. I think I played amazing this year. So, if he does [it], cool. I can't sit here and preach about sacrifice and getting out of our own personal agendas and then a decision like that is made and then be mad at it and not want to sacrifice and do that. 'That's not the person I am. If Thibs does that, and I don't know if he is or isn't, I'm all for it. I'm going to play my game, my minutes, my style, no matter if I'm coming off the bench or starting.' Advertisement The starters have dug the Knicks holes throughout the postseason. They did not play well together in either of the first two games of the series, leading to the change. Towns struggled so much in Game 2 that Thibodeau benched him for much of the fourth quarter. Hart is coming off a poor game himself, producing just six points, six rebounds and an assist in 29 ineffective minutes. 3 Tom Thibodeau reacts during the Knicks' Game 2 loss to the Pacers on May 23. Charles Wenzelberg 'I mean it was one game,' Hart said. 'The game before that I think I had a good game and then [we] went on that 14-0 run. If we won that game, we would be happy. Outcome wasn't what we wanted. The last game I didn't play well. I don't hang my hat on scoring and those kinds of things. I think my energy wasn't where it should have been. But, for me, there's going to be highs and lows and that's kind of how I go. 'I'm not too worried about it. Whenever I have a bad game, I usually come around and have a good game at some point. Hopefully that point is today.'
