Basra Gateway Terminal expands capacity with new mobile harbor crane
Basra ( – The Port of Umm Qasr's Basra Gateway Container Terminal (BGT), operated by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), has received a new Konecranes Gottwald ESP.8 mobile harbor crane.
With a 54-meter boom and a 125-ton lifting capacity, the crane can handle vessels up to the post-Panamax class, significantly enhancing BGT's operational capabilities. This investment reflects BGT's commitment to modernizing Iraq's busiest port and providing reliable, sustainable services to its clients.
The addition of this advanced crane is expected to improve cargo handling efficiency and support the terminal's growing role in regional trade.
