Kota Kinabalu: The 21st Kota Kinabalu High School (KKHS) Alumni Association cum 6th Datuk Peter Chin Tet Fong Cup Basketball Championship is set to kick off today (Saturday) at the Kota Kinabalu High School Basketball Court. It has attracted a total of 14 teams – 11 men's teams to be divided into two groups and three women teams will compete in a round-robin format. Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick, who will officiate the opening ceremony praised KKHS Alumni Association for organising the annual event. 'This tournament, not only strengthen alumni ties but also promotes a healthy lifestyle and positive community development among youth that are essential in future society and the workplace 'As a minister, I believe sports is a vital bridge that connects hearts and nurtures character. Kota Kinabalu High School ‘Kem Perdana Madani NextGen'

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 135 students from Kota Kinabalu High School (KKHS) took part in the 'Kem Perdana Madani NextGen', a two-day, one-night leadership camp held at the school grounds from June 13 to 14. The camp gathered participants from nine uniformed units, including the Fire and Rescue Cadet, School Marching Band, Scouts, Boys' Brigade, Islamic Girls' Association, Red Crescent Society (BSMM), School Youth Cadet Corps (KRS), Girl Guides and Police Cadet. It was the school's first overnight camp in several years, signalling the revival of face-to-face co-curricular activities and meaningful leadership development for students. Throughout the programme, students were actively engaged in team-building exercises, motivational talks, ice-breaking sessions and an entertaining talent night. The following day, the school's Annual Co-Curriculum Carnival was also held, offering educational and enjoyable activities until 1pm. Principal Puan Lily Wong Bitt Lee said the camp provided a valuable platform for students to step out of their comfort zones and develop key skills such as leadership, resilience and teamwork. 'This programme has helped our students grow, and it reflects our commitment to producing well-rounded, responsible individuals through co-curricular excellence,' she said. Advertisement Among the outstanding achievements were Ethan Caled Yu as Best Male Participant, Zara Ameera as Best Female Participant and the Police Cadet as Best Team. Muhd Danial Pang and Nur Nadhirah were selected as Camp Chief and Female Camp Chief.
