Tahsildar, surveyor of Amangal mandal in ACB net
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a tahsildar and a mandal surveyor in Rangareddy district for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 each to facilitate land-related work.
The accused officials were identified as Chintakindi Lalitha, tahsildar of Amangal mandal, and Kota Ravi, mandal surveyor, who were trapped by the ACB's City Range-2 unit after they demanded ₹50,000 each from a complainant. The bribe was sought to complete a land registration process and for making typographical corrections in land records relating to the complainant's grandmother.
Investigators stated that Lalitha had already accepted ₹50,000 from the complainant to initiate the process. Both the accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Further investigation is underway. The ACB urged the public to report instances of bribery by contacting the ACB through its toll-free number 1064 or via WhatsApp, Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). The Bureau assured that identity of complainants will be kept confidential.
