Is the 2025 ‘Until Dawn' Movie Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?
Sony Pictures is continuing to take advantage of its PlayStation IP with a new horror movie, Until Dawn, based on the 2016 video game of the same name. Directed by David F. Sandberg, with a screenplay written by Gary Dauberman and Blair Butler, Until Dawn is a time-loop horror movie about a group of young people who are forced to relive a nightmare in which they are horribly murdered over, and over, and over again. But if they can survive until dawn, they will escape the loop. Easier said than done! The up-and-coming Until Dawn cast includes Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A'zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, and Peter Stormare, the last of which was also the voice of Dr. Hill in the video game. You don't need to be a pro-gamer to appreciate some good old-fashioned time loop horror. Read on for all the information on where to watch the 2025 Until Dawn movie, and when we expect to see the Until Dawn movie streaming on Netflix. Until Dawn will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in the U.S. nationwide on Friday, April 25. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Until Dawn is not yet available to watch online or on streaming. The Until Dawn movie is not currently streaming on Netflix or Amazon, because the movie is being released in theaters, only. Right now, the only way to watch Until Dawn is in a movie theater. That said, because Until Dawn is a Sony movie, we do expect to see it streaming on Netflix eventually. You will be able to purchase the Until Dawn movieon Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Until Dawn on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription. If you want to watch the Until Dawn movie at home, you'll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Netflix. Until Dawn will likely be streaming on Netflix sometime before fall 2025. Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the 'Pay 1' window, meaning the first streaming window after the film's home media release. Another recent Sony movie, Kraven the Hunter, came to Netflix about three months after opening in theaters, while Sony's One of Them Days began streaming on Netflix just two-and-a-half months after opening in theaters. Still, other Sony movies have taken four months to come to Netflix. So while it hasn't been consistent every time, we do expect to see the Until Dawn movie streaming on Netflix in the next few months. If Until Dawn follows the same release pattern as Kraven the Hunter, you can expect Until Dawn to stream on Netflix around late July 2025, aka three months after the movie opened in theaters in the U.S. Or perhaps you'll see Until Dawn on Netflix around late August 2025, aka about four months after the movie opens in theaters. We're almost positive Until Dawn will stream on Netflix before the end of the year. It will be free to stream for anyone with a Netflix subscription. For now, you can watch the Until Dawn movie in theaters.

Netflix's ‘The Electric State' Should Raise Concerns At Marvel
The Electric State While Netflix original movies do not have to be critical hits to be successes, there is starting to be no getting around the fact that The Electric State is shaping up to be a disaster for the service. The reportedly $320 million Russo Brothers production starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt is one of the most expensive movies ever made. Its viewership is now lower on Netflix's Top 10 list than Kraven the Hunter, one of the worst-performing superhero movies at the box office ever, a film so bad it killed the entire Sony spider-universe. The Electric State is also bad with a frankly stunning 15% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, something that even makes Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon movies look good. There are 'insider' reports that Marvel's Kevin Feige is concerned about the film and will be taking a more active role in the Russo's upcoming dual Avengers movies. If that isn't true, it should be, given what we've just seen here. We do not have an updated set of viewership numbers for The Electric State yet, but the film is down to #6 in Netflix's top 10 list, behind some extremely random entries. Den of Thieves 2 has now been planted at #1. A tornado documentary next, then Despicable Me 4, Kraven and M. Night Shyamalan's Trap. This has been the case for a few days now, and it was under a week after release that it had dropped off being #1, which you just do not want to see with a movie this expensive, which Netflix hoped would be one of its biggest ever. The Electric State With a 25 million view start and this much of a drop-off, I'm finding it hard to believe that The Electric State will be able to crawl its way into Netflix's top 10 most viewed movie list behind well, every single movie that cost less there, some quite cheap. Netflix's recently released Carry-On, for instance, cost $47 million, approximately 14 percent of The Electric State. Something went very wrong here, and this should result in three things: Will any of that happen? We'll see, but no, I don't think this is going to be a 'critics hated it but it did massive numbers' situation in the end. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. ‘The Electric State' Already Dethroned In Netflix's Top 10 List By A New Movie
The Electric State When you invest $320 million into a movie, you would like it to be good, and you would like a lot of people to watch it. On both fronts, Netflix's The Electric State appears to be failing. The Electric State has already dropped to #3 on Netflix's top 10 list, behind new entry Twister: Caught in the Storm, a tornado documentary, and even Kraven the Hunter, one of the biggest superhero box office disasters of all time. And this isn't even a full week after release. The Electric State has an utterly dismal 15% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, but even with a better 73% audience score, that is not translating into great viewership so far, and the film has debuted behind a bunch of other, and cheaper, Netflix original films. Top 10 As of now, that list includes Red Notice, Extraction 2, The Gray Man, Damsel, Carry-On and Rebel Ridge in terms of its 25.2 million views over the weekend falling short of those other films. It's not on the all-time list, which of course it's too early for that, but to make it there, it will have to make it past most of those other films, but also others like Don't Look Up, The Adam Project, Bird Box and Leave the World Behind. Separately, directors the Russo Brothers do have one other movie on this list, The Gray Man, and star Millie Bobby Brown has one too with Damsel. But put them together and The Electric State is a worse feature than either. Still, it's hard to gauge what exactly Netflix considers a failure. If this ends up landing at what, #4, #7, #10 eventually, is that a win for that price? If it doesn't make the list at all, is it a disaster? We can't really get into their thought process, but you might understand how at least algorithmically, they wanted to pair this IP with these directors and those stars. But you can throw a peanut butter sandwich into a bowl of chicken noodle soup and that creates a soggy mess, even if individually, those dishes work. The Russos have said that right now, there are no conversations about The Electric State 2, though there may be an idea for a spin-off series based in the Electric State 'universe.' They also reiterated their commitment to star Millie Bobby Brown as someone they love, when asked about a potential MCU role for her, saying she's always on their lists. It is hard to wrap my brain around the idea that a movie could cost this much and be this bad and still somehow be considered a win for Netflix, but it's impossible to know what they think really, as this is not a show that they'll cancel, nor, apparently, a sequel they'll axe. More or less if they're proud of it, they'll brag about the numbers, if not, we'll probably hear very little. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, Bluesky and Instagram. Some Vegans Were Harmed in the Watching of This Movie
Inside a dark theater in Midtown Manhattan, Allison McCulloch watched 'Kraven the Hunter,' an origin story for the obscure Spider-Man villain, while jotting notes on a white piece of paper smaller than a Post-it. Fur clothing. Taxidermied animals. Characters eating steak. McCulloch is the Roger Ebert of vegans, a dedicated cinephile who cares as much as anyone about acting and cinematography — and more than almost anyone about onscreen portrayals of dairy, poultry and beef. In the short reviews she writes for the app Letterboxd, she includes her overall critique as well as 'vegan alerts,' flagging signs of animal products in a one-woman quest to highlight animal welfare onscreen, even in details most viewers would overlook. 'People might think a glass of milk is innocuous,' she said. 'It's not. It's full of violence.' McCulloch has documented her opinion on 24,082 movies on her Letterboxd account, putting her in the top 100 out of the app's more than 18 million members. Movies starring animals are almost a lock for vegan-friendly ratings, with films like 'Flow' and 'Kung Fu Panda 4' getting four stars. 'Kraven the Hunter,' about a criminal-tracking vigilante played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, flopped by traditional measures ('incomprehensible plotting and dodgy one-liners,' Robert Daniels wrote in The New York Times). But it worked on some level for McCulloch, who was surprised by how it framed Kraven as a kind of conservationist who shares a supernatural connection with the creatures he encounters, and hunts criminals instead. She even gave the movie one 'vegan point' for Kraven's decision to not shoot a lion. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
