Huge musician 'pepper-sprayed' after violent row breaks out at boxing event'

A chart-topping musician found himself being dragged out of an event after a heated clash. Konan, one-half of Krept & Konan had been attending a boxing match over the weekend when he became embroiled in an altercation. The rapper had to be held back after the clash at a Misfits boxing event held in Derby on Friday. Konan, 35, was allegedly involved in the altercation, which is believed to have stemmed from a chain being snatched. Shocking new video footage appears to show the rapper being restrained by a member of the security staff. However, Konan is seen to be getting up before becoming involved in another argument with a man. He was believed to have been escorted out of the venue, Vaillant Live, where fans had purchased tickets to see a fight between former MMA fighters Darren Till and Darren Stewart. An onlooker said: "The rapper was in a headlock after it all. Somebody tried to snatch somebody's chain. It was four-on-four and it unfolded into a big fight." He went on to add that the altercation had started around 9pm, before the main fight of the night. "They booted him out," he said. "Someone from his group tried to take someone else's chain. Security swiftly tried to intervene." A spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: "We received reports of an altercation on Colyear Street, Derby, at just before 10.30pm on Friday 16 May. "Officers attended but the incident was dealt with by the on-site security team." Footage of the dramatic incident has since been shared on TikTok and viewed over 200,000 times. Misfits Boxing declined to comment when approached by the Mirror. The Mirror has also approached Konan's spokesperson for comment on the incident. Konan is yet to address the incident on social media but has recently shared video footage of him playing football on Monday night. Some took to social media to claim that this behaviour wasn't normal for the rapper and implied that somebody had aggravated him. The incident comes months after Konan and his rap partner Krept launched an inclusive supermarket, giving people from BAME backgrounds the chance to shop for items including halal meat, exotic fish, specific hair products and cosmetics in one store, rather than travelling around various stores. They opened Saveways in Croydon, south London, in February and promised to provide a "professional and modern retail experience" which promotes inclusivity and affordability. The store, which is a staggering 15,000 square meter space sells items including global produce, meat counters, essential goods and other items. The project saw the duo team up with Steakout owner, Kraysor Ali, to address the gap in the local grocery market.

The Weakest Link contestant 'nearly votes himself off' in very awkward moment

During a recent celebrity version of Romesh Ranganathan's hit BBC quiz show, The Weakest Link, one famous face made a huge blunder by almost nominating himself to be voted off The Weakest Link is known for its brutal voting system, but fans were stunned by a contestant's actions in a recent episode. As the batch of quiz show hopefuls took it in turn to make their nominations for who to vote off, one player almost got it completely wrong. Romesh Ranganathan was on hand to ask the questions for a celebrity version of the long-running quiz. Among those taking part was Countdown mathematician Rachel Riley. ‌ But it was rapper Konan of Krept & Konan fame who appeared to struggle. Among the questions he failed at were: "What is eight divided by four?" with the musician incorrectly guessing the answer was four. The difficult spell didn't end with his question answering ability, either. After a number of votes aimed in his direction, the star then mistakenly named himself. He quickly tried to correct himself as he said: "Konan. No, I mean Rory." The rapper has been making waves in the music industry as part of Krept & Konan. However, his quiz show skills left a lot to be desired. After a viewer shared the blunder on Elon Musk's micro-blogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, they couldn't contain their humour as they wrote: "Bro nearly voted himself off," with two crying emojis. ‌ Another added: "I'm dying," with a crying with laughter emoji face. "It's the last one when he votes himself lol." A third viewer said: "Konan dropped a hall of shame performance on the weakest link and even voted himself out lmao." And a fourth mocked: "That konan on weakest link clip is so funny omg." He is not the only celebrity to have shocked fans on the show, though. Last year Helen Flanagan left viewers of the BBC show speechless over her "unbelievable" answer. ‌ In March 2024, Helen was among those who took part but she didn't make it past the first round. The actress - who is best known for playing Rosie Webster on Coronation Street - attracted attention over her answer to the first question that she was asked by the host. It was about the landmark the White Cliffs of Dover in Kent. Host Romesh had asked the star: "In geology, the White Cliffs of Dover are principally formed of what substance - chalk or cheese?" She paused briefly with hesitation, before replying: "Cheese." The host subsequently revealed that she had answered incorrectly before Helen went on to pass on on her next two questions. The subjects involved which were about music and chemistry respectively. ‌ She was subsequently voted "the weakest link" by the seven other contestants, becoming the first to be eliminated on the episode. Despite Helen labelling the show "terrifying", fans weren't prepared to give her a reprieve for her answer. One user wrote: "Saw this live as it happened and couldn't believe my ears." Another added: "That really is an unbelievable answer." A third viewer said: "Good grief."
