Krispy Kreme Australia has thrilled foodies with its new collection that promises to bring a taste of la dolce vita to Australian stores.
It seems the doughnut chain has been inspired by the thousands of Aussie tourists currently living it up in the Euro summer, and has brought out its 'Passport to Italy' range to transport your taste buds to sunnier climes, even if you are stuck at home or behind a desk this winter.
The range includes three tantalising Italian dessert-inspired creations designed to evoke the feeling of a sun-drenched Italian summer: Tiramisu, Cannoli and Limone.
The doughnuts come in a $34.95 dozen pack, which works out to just $2.90 per doughnut, or a four-pack for $15.95 ($3.98 per doughnut).
Shoppers can buy the doughnuts individually for $4.80 each.
Tiramisu features a fluffy shell doughnut generously filled with tiramisu Kreme, topped with sweet Kreme, and finished with a dusting of cocoa.
The Cannoli doughnut is an unglazed ring doughnut half-dipped in choc and cannoli crunch, dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with a rich dollop of cannoli-style buttercream.
For a zestier morsel, Limone Delight is a fluffy shell doughnut filled with lemon delight Kreme, dipped in lemon icing, and topped with candied lemon for a citrus hit.
Launching Wednesday, July 30, foodies are already abuzz, and if past limited-edition releases are anything to go by, they should be hot-footing it to their local stockists if they want to grab a box before they sell out.
The Passport to Italy box is available in Krispy Kreme stores and online, as well as selected Woolworths, Coles, BP and 7‑Eleven stores.
Krispy Kreme has form in sending fans into a sugar-fuelled frenzy with its limited-edition specials.

In February the Pistachio Papi collaboration sold out across the country within hours of its launch, with some stores stripped bare by 10am.
The collaboration was such a runaway success that the chain decided to bring the flavour back for a second run last month after huge demand.
In May, fans queued for the return of the Strawberry Glazed Doughnut, brought back a Pac‑Man inspired challenge, only for it to sell out nationwide in just three days.
And just weeks ago, the Hungry for Heroes range, featuring Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman doughnuts, went viral when it dropped on 2 July to coincide with the launch of the new Superman movie.
The collection will be available until August 18 in Krispy Kreme stores and online, and until August 26 at remaining stockists.
So if you're craving a taste of Italy without the airfare - run, don't walk.
