CM's wife, VIPs visit Chamundeshwari Temple

Mysuru: CM's wife, Parvathi, on Friday visited Sri Chamundeshwari Temple atop the Chamundi Hills and offered puja to mark Aashada Friday celebrations.
Accompanied by family members, she arrived at the religious site in a car and was at the temple for about 30 minutes.
Her supporters kept the media at bay while she was at the religious site.
Union minister of state Shobha Karandlaje climbed the 1001 steps to reach the religious site, a ritual she started about two decades ago, and offered puja to goddess Chamundeshwari. Among other VIPs who visited the temple were senior minister KH Muniyappa, former minister HD Revanna, Karnataka BJP unit chief BY Vijayendra, and former DCM KS Eshwarappa.
This comes amidst hundreds of thousands of devotees visiting the temple to mark the fourth and final aashadha Friday celebrations.
All the rituals associated with the celebrations, headed by the chief priest of the temple, Shashishekhar Dixit, including Mahanyasa Rudrabhishekam, Panchamrutha Abhisheka, Kunkumarchane, Pushparchanse, Sahasranama, and Mahamangalarathi, were conducted for the deity starting from 4am on Friday.
Devotees from across the state, who arrived from various parts of the state, were allowed to enter the temple at 5.30am and continued till 10pm. Amid intermittent drizzling, devotees lined up in long queues and had darshan of the goddess.
To mark the concluding last Friday celebrations, various organisations across Mysuru city distributed prasada to the devotees in Chamundipuram Circle, Vidyaranyapuram, Agrahara, Vijayanagara, Chamaraja Double Street, Kuvempunagar, Ramakrishnangar, Ontikoppal, KG Koppal, M G Koppal, and several other places. Mysuru city made elaborate arrangements for all crowd management, including bus operations from Lalitha Mahal grounds.
