Kurashiki Ablaze returns, Kobe Shinwa University joins PVL Invitational Conference
The action does not stop in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) as it is set to kick off its Invitational Conference on Tuesday, just four days after the PVL On Tour finals on Sunday.
Four local teams will compete in the Invitational Conference, which runs from August 21 to 31: Creamline, Cignal HD, Chery Tiggo, and PLDT. They will be joined by the returning Kurashiki Ablaze and another Japanese team, Kobe Shinwa University.
Kurashiki Ablaze won the conference in 2023 and finished third last year, with the Cool Smashers taking the title.
Kobe Shinwa University, meanwhile, was supposed to compete in the 2022 edition but withdrew due to pandemic-related restrictions in Japan.
The six teams will compete in a single round-robin tournament for the preliminary round. The top two teams at the end of the preliminary round will then advance to the finals, while the third and fourth-placed teams will battle for the bronze.
