Active winds and dust expected across Kuwait from Monday

KUWAIT CITY, June 22: Kuwait will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system combined with a hot, dry air mass, leading to active winds and dusty conditions starting Monday, the Kuwait Meteorology Department announced. Meteorologist Al-Ali told KUNA that winds will pick up on Monday, stirring dust in open areas. The situation is expected to intensify on Tuesday and Wednesday, when winds will become sometimes strong. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather will remain hot and dusty, with northwesterly winds blowing at moderate to active speeds, sometimes reaching strong gusts between 20 and 65 kilometers per hour. These conditions may reduce horizontal visibility to less than 1,000 meters in some locations. Evenings on Tuesday and Wednesday will continue to be hot, with northwesterly winds ranging from 20 to 50 kilometers per hour. Sea waves are expected to reach heights between 3 and 7 feet. Temperatures are forecast to soar, with maximum daytime temperatures ranging from 44 to 47 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows are expected between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius.
