Kuwait shines at Asian Shooting Championships in China
LINFEN, China, June 5: The Kuwait Shooting Sports Club announced that the national shooting team claimed three medals—two gold and one bronze—at the ongoing Asian Shooting Championships in Linfen, China. The tournament features strong participation from across the continent, making this a significant achievement for Kuwaiti shooting. Duaij Al-Otaibi, head of the Kuwaiti delegation and President of the Shooting Club, confirmed that champion shooter Mansour Al-Rashidi won gold in the individual skeet competition. Fellow shooter Abdulaziz Al-Saad secured the bronze medal, while the silver went to a Malaysian competitor. In the team skeet shooting competition, the Kuwaiti trio—Abdulaziz Al-Saad, Mansour Al-Rashidi, and Abdulaziz Al-Faihan—clinched the gold medal, outperforming host nation China, which took silver, and Qatar, which earned the bronze. Al-Otaibi dedicated this victory to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the people of Kuwait. He praised the shooters' exceptional performances and expressed optimism for further medals as the championship continues through June 10. He also extended his appreciation to the Public Authority for Sports for its consistent support and commended the technical and administrative teams for their efforts in achieving these results.

Kuwait wins two gold, one bronze at Asian Shooting Championship KUWAIT: The Kuwait Shooting Sports Club (KSSC) announced on Thursday that the Kuwaiti team participating in the Asian Shooting Championship won three medals, two gold and one bronze, in Linfen, China. Head of the Kuwaiti delegation Daij Al-Otaibi stated said that shooter Mansour Al-Rashidi won first place and the gold medal in the individual skeet shooting competition, while shooter Abdulaziz Al-Saad won third place and the bronze in the same event. He added that the Kuwaiti team, consisting of shooters Mansour Al-Rashidi, Abdulaziz Al-Saad, and Abdulaziz Al-Faihan won the gold medal in the team skeet competition, ahead of the Chinese team, which took silver, and the Qatari team, who took the bronze. KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The final round of the 50-count trap shooting competition for both men and women will take place today as part of the prestigious His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Grand International Shooting Championship. Organized by the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club, the event is being held at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex. The women's final is scheduled for 2:00 pm, followed by the men's final at 3:00 pm. Omani shooter Butti Al-Shabli expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the Amir's Championship for the second consecutive year, citing the tournament's prestige and the elite level of competition. 'Kuwait has world-class shooting ranges, and competing alongside Kuwaiti champions provides valuable experience,' said Al-Shabli, who is aiming for a top finish in this year's event. His teammate, veteran shooter Salib bin Nasser, who has been in the sport for 25 years, echoed similar sentiments. Kuwait's shooting facilities are among the best globally. The varied weather conditions actually add to the challenge positively, and competing with world-class athletes only enhances our skills,' he added. Lebanese shooter Elie Bejani, a past medalist at the 2022 edition, praised the high caliber of competition. 'This is my second time participating. The tournament is tough, and making it to the finals is already a great achievement. I'm determined to earn another medal this year.' His compatriot Ashraf Alloush noted the unique stature of the championship. 'The Amir of Kuwait Championship stands out from other events because it is hosted at one of the best ranges in the world and attracts top-tier international shooters.' Turkish shooter Nadim Tolga Tolcer highlighted the fierce competition, underscoring the presence of world and Olympic champions. 'The championship is exceptionally well organized. The weather in Kuwait is ideal for shooting, and the level of competition is world-class,' Tolcer said.

KUWAIT CITY, April 15: The men's and women's trap shooting qualifiers for the 75-target event are set to take place today, Wednesday, as part of the prestigious His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah International Shooting Championship. The annual tournament is hosted by the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, attracting around 220 male and female shooters from 18 Arab and international countries, alongside their technical and administrative teams. Earlier this week, Kuwaiti shooter Abdulaziz Al-Mandil claimed the silver medal in the skeet shooting competition, highlighting Kuwait's strong presence in the tournament. On the sidelines of the event, Obaid Al-Osaimi, Secretary-General of the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations and Tournament Director, welcomed Egyptian MP and businesswoman Sahar Talaat Mostafa at his office. Al-Osaimi presented her with the Kuwaiti Shooting Club shield in appreciation of her visit. Mostafa expressed her pride in taking part in the Amir's Championship for the first time, praising the exceptional organisation and competitive environment. 'The Supreme Organising Committee and all working teams have ensured top-tier preparation and execution,' she said. Mostafa is competing alongside her son, 18-year-old shooter Yassin Ihab Madi, and both are aiming for podium finishes in what she described as one of the largest international shooting events. She extended heartfelt thanks to Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of the Kuwaiti and Arab Shooting Federations, and Obaid Manahi Al-Osaimi for their warm hospitality and commitment to excellence.
