Shiv Sena (UBT) launches ‘Kya Hua Tera Wada?' agitation across Marathwada against unfulfilled promises made to farmers

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Shiv Sena (UBT) launched a regionwide mass protest across Marathwada on Thursday under the slogan 'Kya Hua Tera Wada?', challenging Mahayuti govt's unfulfilled commitments to farmers made ahead of the state assembly elections. It seeks to expose what Sena (UBT) claims is the BJP-led Mahayuti govt's disregard for agricultural communities in Maharashtra. BJP dismisses these actions as attention-seeking behaviour by the opposition, stating that these protests overlook the administration's beneficial programmes. "Numerous schemes were announced by Mahayuti to lure farmers ahead of the elections. But once it formed govt, the politicians conveniently forgot these assurances," said Shiv Sena (UBT) functionary and Maharashtra legislative council's leader of opposition Ambadas Danve. Danve expressed concerns over the rising incidents of farmer suicides across Maharashtra, particularly in the Marathwada region. The agitation will be held at various levels — district, taluka, mandal, and village. Party workers, led by local office-bearers, will submit memorandums addressed to the chief and both deputy chief ministers through govt officials. As per the plan, applications to various officials, including revenue officers, gram vikas officers, tehsildars and district collectors were submitted on June 5 (Thursday). On June 6 and 7, Shiv Sena (UBT) supporters will approach the residences and offices of Mahayuti's elected representatives, accompanied by traditional music while presenting their requests. Between June 8 and 10, village gatherings will be held in five villages per constituency, supervised by MPs, MLAs, district heads and local politicians. Sena (UBT) has gathered support from farmers, residents and office-bearers from all wings of the party, including the Yuva Sena, Mahila Aghadi, and affiliated organisations.
