Eagles vs. Browns: 5 Under-the-radar players to watch in Week 2 of preseason
With kickoff fast approaching, we're looking at five under-the-radar Eagles to watch on Saturday. The Eagles and Browns are set for their third meeting of the week, this time a more formal preseason game with starters for both teams sitting out. Saturday afternoon offers another chance for players on the roster bubble and under-the-radar performers to carve out a role on a Super Bowl-contending team with very few holes or available opportunities at key positions. With kickoff fast approaching, we're looking at five under-the-radar Eagles to watch on Saturday. QB Kyle McCord It was a rough NFL preseason debut for the Eagles' sixth-round quarterback as McCord completed just 1 of 5 passes for 8 yards and threw an interception against the Bengals. Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been the better player this summer, and Saturday offers another chance for McCord to solidify the third quarterback spot. TE Kylen Granson The Eagles typically carry two tight ends, but it's been Kylen Granson (6-3, 242) who offers tantalizing pass-catching potential and could force the Birds into a decision. LB Smael Mondon The fifth-round linebacker from Georgia is an athletic marvel, and Vic Fangio has no problem playing him with the first team defense. RB ShunDerrick Powell A Darren Sproles clone, Powell was dynamic in his NFL debut, scoring a touchdown and utilizing elite speed and footwork. DB Maxen Hook A former teammate of Quinyon Mitchell at Toledo, Hook is a versatile safety who needs a splash performance to remind Eagles brass of Reed Blankenship.

Predicting which Eagles' tight ends will make the final 53-man roster following minicamp
Predicting which Eagles' tight ends will make the final 53-man roster following minicamp With Philadelphia completing OTAs and mandatory mini-camp, w'ere predicting which tight ends will make the final Eagles' 53-man roster The Eagles are the reigning Super Bowl champions, and as we approach the 2025 NFL season, this roster will look dramatically different after suffering several free-agent losses. During the first wave of free agency, Philadelphia saw Josh Sweat (Cardinals), Milton Williams (Patriots), Kenneth Gainwell (Steelers), Mekhi Becton (Chargers), Isaiah Rodgers (Vikings), Fred Johnson (Jaguars), Parris Campbell (Cowboys), Darius Slay (CB) and Oren Burks (Bengals) all depart. Still, they rebounded to make several key signings, including A.J. Dillon (RB), Joshua Uche (LB), Adoree' Jackson (CB), Charley Hughlett (LS), Patrick Johnson (LB), Avery Williams (KR/PR), Kylen Granson (TE), and Azeez Ojulari (OLB) among others. Our projected 2025 depth chart series continues with the tight end position. You can find our past position breakdowns at the links below: Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver TE1 - Dallas Goedert Goedert is back on a restructured deal, and it wasn't a rough decision after the veteran (team-record 52 career playoff catches) led the Eagles in receptions (17) and receiving yards (215) in the postseason. TE2- Grant Calcaterra Playing in relief of an injured Dallas Goedert, Calcaterra logged 24 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown. He was targeted 30 times and put up 19.9 yards per game. Best of the rest Practice squad numbers and game day elevations make it easy for Philadelphia to get creative with its 53-man roster. The Eagles carried two tight ends last season, and with Jeffrey Lurie looking to incorporate fullback Ben VanSumeren, the team is expected to take this approach in 2025. There are seven tight ends on the roster, with Nick Muse and E.J. Henderson among the players battling for a spot after the team signed Kylen Granson and Harrison Bryant. Jenkins was promoted to Philadelphia's active roster in 2024 and saw action in 12 games (eight in the regular season and four in the postseason). Playing primarily on special teams, he caught one pass on the season – a 7-yard touchdown versus the New York Giants on Jan. 5.

Colts' free agent tight end signs with Super Bowl champions
Colts' free agent tight end signs with Super Bowl champions Colts' free agent tight end Kylen Granson is signing with the Super Bowl champions. Indianapolis Colts' free-agent tight end Kylen Granson will not be returning and is instead joining the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal, according to Adam Schefter. Granson was a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the Colts and had spent his career up to this point with the team. Over his career, Granson caught 66% of his 131 targets for 958 yards and one touchdown. Most recently, in 2024, Granson totaled just 14 receptions and 182 yards through the air, per PFF. After the season, GM Chris Ballard said that the Colts needed more production in the passing game from the tight end position. For that reason, along with Granson and Mo Alie-Cox being free agents, this offseason felt like an opportunity for the Colts to hit the reset button to a degree at this position. So, it should not come as a surprise that Granson did not return to the Colts. Granson now joins an Eagles' tight end room with Dallas Goedert, EJ Jenkins, Cameron Latu, and Nick Muse--although, according to Jordan Schultz, the Eagles are "open to trade talks" involving Goedert.
