2 men charged with arson after fire destroys home in Hay River, N.W.T.
Two men in Hay River, N.W.T., are facing arson charges as police say "evidence indicated" they deliberately set a fire that destroyed a home on Sunday.
The Hay River RCMP announced in a news release on Thursday that at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, police received a report of a fire at a home on Rowe's Trailer Court. It resulted in the structure being a total loss and neighbouring homes were also damaged.
The release says that the person reporting the incident saw people fleeing the area.
A 22-year-old man from Hay River and a 43-year-old man from Kátł'odeeche First Nation are facing multiple charges, including arson.
Both men remain in custody.
