'Wednesday' season 2 part 2 trailer teases Gwendoline Christie's return and Lady Gaga cameo

Netflix has dropped the trailer for Wednesday Season 2 Part 2, set to premiere on 3 September, and it has sent Wednesday Addams fans into ecstatic overdrive. In a surreal twist, Principal Weems, played by Gwendoline Christie, and presumed dead, returns not in the flesh, but as Wednesday's covert spirit guide, offering ominous counsel as chaos rips through Nevermore Academy. The trailer leaves very little untouched: Wednesday awakens in a hospital as supernatural mayhem continues to escalate. Tyler, the Hyde, runs amok, Judi transforms into a sinister Avian, and L.O.I.S. - the secret outcast programme, threatens the safety of Nevermore's students. A cryptic voice at the end intones, 'Beware. There will be a price to pay,' and eagle-eyed fans have identified it as Lady Gaga—her first-ever contribution to the show. While unseen, her voice and chilling presence hint that she plays Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary teacher at Nevermore Academy. Lady Gaga's involvement was teased earlier at Netflix's Tudum event, where she performed an electrifying Bloody Mary medley, cementing her connection to the Wednesday universe. The reveal of her named character adds real heft to the surprise. Early fan reactions have flooded social media with theories. Some Redditors conjecture Gaga might be voicing Ophelia, a figure cloaked in mystery, while others speculate, she may cameo later in the season, sparking online frenzy over her secretive yet impactful presence. With Gwendoline Christie returning in spectral form and Lady Gaga's eerie voice adding a chilling, unpredictable edge, Wednesday's second act is shaping up to be far darker, even for this Addams Family outing. Whether driven by fear, devotion, or curiosity, fans are now eagerly awaiting the supernatural showdown awaiting them on 3 September.

Wednesday fans 'work out' prisoner's real identity and it's not Ophelia Addams

Wednesday fans have an intriguing alternative theory about who the mysterious freed prisoner could be. *Warning - This article contains spoilers for Wednesday season 2 part 1.* ‌ Some Netflix viewers are convinced they have 'worked out' the real identity of the prisoner Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) freed from Willow Hill at the end of season 2 part 1. ‌ It comes after a lot of speculation that the prisoner must surely be Wednesday's missing Aunt Ophelia following Morticia Addams' (Catherine Zeta-Jones) heartfelt admission about her sister earlier in the season. ‌ However, eagled-eyed Wednesday fans have another idea about who the woman could be - and it links back to Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan). In order to understand the compelling fan theory, we must first consider that the Wednesday season 2 part 1 finale left a lot of unanswered questions… What do fans think really happened at the end of Wednesday season 2 part 1? Towards the end of season 2 part 1, we see Hyler transform into the Hyde and murder his master Ms Thornhill/Laurel Gates (Christina Ricci) before charging at Wednesday and pausing menacingly in front of her. We then see Wednesday thrown violently from the window of Willow Hill onto the concrete below as she says in her voiceover: 'I've always dreamed of looking death in the face. But in my final moments, all I hear is my mother's words ringing in my ears. Maybe I have made everything worse... much worse.' While the assumption is that Tyler pushed Wednesday out of the window in his Hyde form, some fans have argued there is a reason why we never actually saw it happen. ‌ One theorised: 'Tyler did NOT push Wednesday idc to obvious! They didn't show it for a reason, watch it be revealed when they find him that it was someone else!!' Another agreed: 'I feel like Tyler pushing her is gonna be a huge red herring.' ‌ Watch Wednesday on Netflix for free with Sky from £15 Sky Get the deal here Product Description Who do Wednesday fans think the freed prisoner really is? Many fans think that the liberated prisoner who asks Wednesday 'What kind of angel are you?' is actually her missing Aunt Ophelia. However, many of the L.O.I.S prisoners at Willow Hill that Wednesday helped to free had previously been reported dead. ‌ Another outcast sent to Willow Hill was none other than… Tyler's late mother Francoise Galpin. Francoise's Hyde was released when she became pregnant with Tyler and her transformations ultimately got her locked up at Willow Hill. We have been told she died at some point afterwards, with her death having a profound effect on Tyler and his father Sheriff Donovan Galpin. But did she really die? ‌ On Reddit, one fan theorised: 'I'm guessing Tyler's mom is the woman who asked, 'What kind of angel are you' to Wednesday and she'll be able to get through to Tyler. He even tells Thornhill she's not his real mother. So Tyler might be neutralised that way.' However, it is also plausible that it was Francoise, driven mad by her years in captivity, who transformed into her Hyde self and threw Wednesday from the window in order to protect her son Tyler. What a plot twist that would be. What do fans think this means for Wednesday and Tyler in season 2 part 2? If Tyler throwing Wednesday from the window was actually a red herring, fans think this could lead to a reconciliation between the pair and a redemption arc for Tyler. ‌ 'From best enemies to lovers ever,' one wrote, as another concurred: 'He def still has feelings for her.' A third agreed: 'My theory is tyler wasn't the one who pushed wednesday out of the window a) they didn't show it happening b) ehh I lowkey still ship them even tho I know they're doomed.' Who is the lady in the cell and did Tyler really push Wednesday out of that window? We'll have to keep watching to find out. Wednesday season 2 part 1 is available to stream on Netflix. Part 2 is coming to Netflix on September 3.
